sometimes i think about shuichi would want to do with his life outside of detective work.
one day i wanna write specifically about his relationship to being a detective because he definitely doesn't HATE it and comes to at least appreciate in some respect but like. by the end of the game, ESPECIALLY at the end of the game, he never gives the impression that he Likes being a detective. it's something that he's good at and has explicit purpose, which for shuichi is good enough, probably. but regardless of if it's a modern au or post game or whatever i think he naturally will grow to resent it, even if it's just in a quiet way. i don't think he'll ever be Happy being a detective.
which is of course why he finds enrichment in other aspects of his life. but i do wonder bc despite me saying this, i can't think of what he'd do as an alternative. shuichi is just so Built To Be A Detective. it's in his nature!!
anyway, ideas on what else shuichi would be into career (or even hobby!) wise bc goddamn boy we gotta get you some fulfillment in your path of life dude. 😭
