a bunch of sketches from this month. Still trying to strengthen my art and find a style I like, so haven't really made any completed pieces. Also struggling to render with my new tablet =w=; Hopefully will figure it out soon and have something finished to show.

The moon does us a great service, metaphorically and literally, and this is part of it – occasionally she allows us to appreciate the shadow cast by our own planet. She shows us that the earth, for all the cacophony of life on its surface, is firstly an object, bigger than we are, magisterial enough to cast a shadow thousands and thousands of miles into space.

Its harder to show from still images, but its really important to note that when Riku does his disgusting dramatic reveal of Kairi, Sora can’t see her. He can’t see her from the angle. Given the height of the railing he can barely see Riku’s head from where he is standing and nominally having a conversation. This game might have the worst sightline problem I have ever seen. The blocking is downright demented - which is baffling given the skill of its director in composition in other works.

Recently published on Sightlines: The Struggle for Happiness, or What Is American about Black Dada, an essay by Adrienne Edwards, the Walker’s curator at large, on the  “overwhelmingly American assemblage” that is the Black Dada Reader. Adam Pendleton’s concept of “Black Dada”—which has guided his art making practice—melds references from LeRoi Jones’s 1964 poem “Black Dada Nihilismus” and Hugo Ball’s “Dada Manifesto” of 1916. To give context to Pendleton’s work in the exhibition I am you, you are too, we share an essay byWalker Curator at Large Adrienne Edwards from the “overwhelmingly American assemblage” that is Pendleton’s Black Dada Reader.
