aeduan and eridysi using the same analogy of fate hanging on the edge of a knife has me crying. eridysi “the Six and i balance beneath a knife’s edge. which side will cut us, though, remains to be seen”. and aeduan saying something similar in bloodwitch i don’t remember the exact quote but it was something about lady fate’s knife falling and him having to choose between iseult and owl, and his father. Rhian was Baile's niece and that's all well and good but. Imagine being the sibling/parent in the middle of that. Sure your sister is an immortal warrior but that's not unheard of in your time so like okay. Great. Good for her. But then you get a daughter and guess what? Also an immortal warrior. And!
