Patience. I noticed this angular shaft of light in this small side street. I waited for a while for someone to walk into the light. Thankfully, I managed to capture the woman in the centre of the light. Pavement - Headrow. Another from today. In the late 18th, early 19th Century; a painter William Gilpin published a set of rules for landscape painters. They stipulated amongst other things, how many cattle should be in the foreground and one must always be lying down. I find I’m happiest with a street photo if I have people walking opposite directions and at least one person in frame, sat down. Headrow - Leeds. Sometimes with street photography, you compose a shot and as you take it, something or someone moves across the scene. Usually, I don’t consider these ones but for some reason, I like the man walking into frame, it feels more interesting. Went for a good walk around Leeds, armed with my new Sigma lens. Very impressed with its handling and sharpness. Feels like it’s going to be quite an asset.
