CW// fluff.
Sann blinks, tasting the words in his mouth in astonishment before he stands up and clasps his hands over his lap.
Of course you know he can´t.
He knows it´s a game.
But he untangles his hands. An smile, victorious at last, slowly expanding over a flushed face.
Finally, a game he can win.
"I haven´t practiced it as much, so it´s... unpolished" he signs, a flash of red lighting up the tips of his ears before he takes a calculated breath.
There´s no music to guide himself, so he marks the rhythm with the a tap of his feet.
Sann swirls his hands for a second, closing his eyes, before his fingers fall to trace a walk over his left arm. A quick shift to encircle the empty space in front of him before his index fingers touch sideways.
"I walked across, an empty land...I knew the pathway like the back of my hand..."
He turns his hand with frown eyebrows, stilling for a few seconds before catching up with yet another set of hand swirls he tries his best to be as clear as possible.
Sann´s face used to be so still, so hard for his smile to make lines. But as he signs, his dimples appear, the sides of his eyes tracing little laugh lines that with time will leave a mark.
"...Is this the place we used to love?" he signs pulling crossed arms over his chest extra tight. "Is this the place that I´ve been dreaming of?"
He moves his body in a way you might not understand, but for him, the words come clearly to his head as his hands shifts easily from one position to another. His body flows with the rhythm as he lets the sound in his imagination carry him.
"Oh simple thing, where have you gone?" his hand cuts through his palm and his head follows, lowering his gaze a second. He pulls his hands into fists and pulls forward slightly, like an imaginary leash being tugged. Not real anymore, the sensation ghosting over his neck as he signs. "I´m getting old and I need something to rely on"
When he didn´t even have written words, he dreamed of talking a lot. Maybe a desperate attempt to not forget the sound of his voice. Maybe the desire to have changed the outcome of that night that fell into an eternal silence.
"Oh, this could be the end of everything..." his hands pick up the rhythm so he can barely even register how he moves his hands until he has his palm up, his head slightly pulled back while looking at you.
"So why don´t we go?"
He remembers clearly how the day after Albus showed him to sign his name, just a few more words too, how it felt to sloppily put his hands into shapes and have the other understand what he meant.
He understood him.
Without words or touch.
"So why don´t we go?" he signs leaning his whole body to a side as he flashes a smile at the memory.
"Somewhere only we know"
He makes a gesture as if he cut his palm with his index, making circles with his finger. He pulls his hand, two fingers up, accross his chest and then, slowly moves his hand up to the side of his head.
He stills in his place for a second before he hears clapping from behind.
"That was amazing!" the boy can´t help the awe from coming out of his chest "You´ve gotten so much better!" Albus signs with a smile, still moving his lips.
Sann´s chest fills with pride at the praise, at the way he can ask since when he was there and he knows, he will have a reply.
