Date Published : 1890

Themes : Friendship, Serving Justice, Honor, Greed, Mystery

Mini Summary : In this story, there is a treasure everyone covets and broken promises that keep the story going. Sherlock Holmes is called on to help solve the mystery of the treasure’s location and eventually on a murder.

Opinion-Piece : This was a fun story even with all the murder because we were introduced to a new character. I actually read A Study in Scarlet and then this one immediately after so I’ve got to say, I like A Study in Scarlet just a little more than this one. The mystery was intriguing and it was fun just trying to follow along with Holmes’ deductions.
