2. Is there a ship/show for whom you are interested in writing yet are intimidated to try? I guess OUAT for Captain Swan - they’re such a dynamic couple with a lot of chemistry that I don’t think I could recreate and a lot of the stories there are really amazingly well written that again, I’d be overwhelmed.
4. Which of your stories would you most like to see made into a movie? Probably Sacrifice: Lori - I think it could be a fun movie and a bit of a change from the usual YA stuff, set in Ireland, no immediate romance, very little school stuff, lots of action and female friendship etc. But Saving Part of the World would also make an excellent Beyblade movie as long as they kept Amber because honestly that story would not work without her, there’s no one who could take her place. I thought long and hard about that and there just isn’t anyone who would work there.
8. Do you have a story that consistently challenges you? (or has challenged you in the past?) Yeah the Sacrifice Saga/Chronicles/whatever the fuck it is. It refuses to be wrangled into anything I want it to be. It’s changed drastically since I started writing it as some kind of Harry Potter/Final Fantasy VIII/Bleach thing. I don’t think it’s even recognisable as any of those things anymore. I’m really excited to write for it but I’m equally daunted by it. There’s quite a lot happening with everyone and I just don’t really have a grasp on it. And like, there’s Cleo and she’s so damn determined to get into the story that she’s bisexual. I think she brings it up in the story like five times and I know why this is, it’s that I don’t want that factor of her character to be erased so I will allow this for the first draft and then I have to clear it up to be a little more realistic. Then there’s Faith who is an important character but so damn normal that she borders on boring everyone to death. So yeah it’s a challenge.
10. Do you have an idea for a story that intrigues you but haven’t been able to piece together? What would it take to inspire you to actually write it? I’ll reiterate, I have so many ideas for the Sacrifice Chronicles/Saga etc and all these pieces of music attached to certain scenes so when I hear them, I’m transported back into the story and yet... it’s not there yet. I’m still not sure of the purpose of the story or any of the important things that make a story epic. I have ideas... but nothing. And honestly what I would need to write it would be severe isolation on an island with no internet but a library of books and just no distractions. Sigh.
