People keep having these theories about why Sigyn held the bowl for Loki and they couldn’t be further from my UPG. One is about how Sigyn actually does it to spite Loki and another is because Sigyn is holding off Ragnarok (which is true, I suppose).
I don’t get why love isn’t a factor? Why can’t we accept that Loki was beloved to her? There aren’t very many sustainable acts of love in the myths. Not everything has to have layers of meaning and ulterior motives. People write love and dedication and gentleness off like having that as an explanation is meaningless and dull but doesn’t that say a lot about Sigyn’s character and who Loki is, even?
People who have these theories likely don’t take the time to know Sigyn. But I’m curious. Does anyone else have any other UPG they’d like to share?
