I meant a person who has a primarily vegetarian diet but sometimes eats meat.
you’re not vegetarian if you eat meat, full stop. there’s no room for debate on what constitutes vegetarianism. “flexitarian” is literally just another word for omnivore. any consumption of meat/animal products ever makes you an omnivore. simply reducing your animal product consumption does not make you vegetarian, it makes you an omnivore who eats slightly more plant-based foods than most omnivores.
what I think about this concept is probably pretty obvious. it’s stupid. I want people to reduce their consumption of animal products, because it’s great for everybody involved: you, the animals, workers, and the planet. but unless you completely cut out meats or animal products entirely, you can’t call yourself anything but an omnivore.
