tried out animeeffects for the first time for a project moon AU with @sunkitt!! think it came out pretty good c:

static and a more-or-so-oc-canon-based version for matthew and yuna with their ears given back

fun art/design tidbits:

silurian's weapon is styled after a fish hook, and the inner edge of the hook is sharpened into a blade

silurian is wearing a feather gifted from harper c: it's harper's feather :D i didn't draw it this time but i'd imagine harper wears a feather earring of the same pattern sometimes

harper's arm covers his gun that I meticulously drew rip gun holster nobody will ever see 😔 but he's ambidexterous with firearms and carries 1-2 pistols at a time

harper and silurian are from the dawnpiercer office (oc au-ified) and harper's outfit models what their uniforms look like

I got stuck on silurian's outfit as well but falling back to pirate theming worked out (harper has to keep the appearance they're not actually associated with pirates lmao)

i'd say harper is grade 5 fixer and silurian grade 1 or a color (??? undecided)

matthew is part of the cinq association of the lowest sector (6) and thus has not been distributed a cavalier hat and cape yet. actual reason: it saves me time from drawing and rigging it

yuna was modeled after bari and shi faust's outfits. the hanging belt is supposed to mimic where her (original) tail would've been

we decided yuna would be a color fixer, the black feather who fights with twin blades shaped like wings

though all of the gifs are synced up in where they start looping, I decided to have their breathing bounces and blinks occur at different points so it looks less robotic when all are put side by side

wanted to compiled some of my silurian and harper stuff posted in 2024 from my bsky here'reo bc I already have all of these watermarked and this looks nice

they're characters who were supposed to just be briefly part of Tiburon's backstory when I was making some edits in April 2024, but they ended up utterly taking over my brain ooops...... now I want them to appear in the main story. if i can figure out how to write again. how do people just sit down and words appear on the page.

I'd say I've made pretty good anatomical improvements though! there's a lot more volume in the characters I draw and much more shape in the side profiles. also people get nostril rights now. wonder how drawing Ash and Tiburon again in chapter 3 will look. might be a while because I'm still finishing the last bit of script before I port it over to the manuscript

for the time being I suppose I'll let the pirates continue to hijack the hyperfixation WOO
