"There was no individual"
"There was not even you or I"
"I wasn't big."
"I wasn't small."
"I wasn't anyone, at all."
Jokes on everybody, i'm playing in a MULTIVERSE CAMPAIGN, SO THERE'S MULTIPLE IRISES, by which I had to lovingly design. One threadborn, fairy, and a silkborn!
Morgan is a workplace nightmare, but if it’s their shop then whatcha gonna do?
Now for something completely different!
I’m having SO much fun DMing The Crooked Moon for my two groups of players. I had to share a comic of a very funny scene that happened this evening in my in-person game, after my players reached Wickermore Village. Needless to say they’ve fallen in love with the NPCs there (as have I! I’m having so much fun playing them as the DM 😭💖).
Jean & Morgan have quickly become favorites of the party. They’ve adopted them both as their ‘unhinged’ and ‘reasonable adult’ favourites.
Other notable scenes: Morgan sold the party a “shifty potion of healing” at a discount because they just made it and wanted to see what it would do. Jean and one of my PCs also basically adopted a kid together in a mutual ‘we have GOTTA keep this kid out of trouble 😑 🤝 🙂↕️’ pact.
Okay, so a while ago, I had a vivid dream that grew to inspire the creation of a D&D character...
His name is Waelynn, and he's a Silkborn, except he hasn't known that until he visited a witch coven, which is made up of purely Silkborns. He's their kin fr <3
Okay, first I'll paste the notes from my dream below (Yes, I write down my dreams)
There was a LOT more in this dream, but I want to focus on this part
So, on a dark forest path, some lady leading a group of people has bright lights. Everyone that she passes had dim lights until she passes by them, giving them light. Behind them, a lively bright town/city that they've all left behind. In front of them, a gloomy and blue-lit village. The old lady approaches, narrating, "This is the land of the witches." She talks about... I don't know, pleasing them? There's a lot of witches; one of them looked like a Cheshire cat; another looked like some old queen who only liked apples, bananas, and a side of sweet mushrooms "I need to ty out your sweet mushroom stew sometime!"; all of them resemble spiders. Their houses were really cool and eccentric once someone pleases them, basically lighting the house up. The weird village has webs beneath the houses (the houses are like... on rods that resemble trees) so that anyone who falls can get up easily and not get hurt. Some guy gets stopped by a witch proclaiming that "Is this a fake tattoo?" I have no idea what that means, but they proceed to run their hands over his back and it reveals... chitin? Basically revealing some sort of weird... Spider-human form that you'd see in Junji Ito style. Uh, then the Cheshire cat witch comes along and pulls out a list of witches and adds the false tattoo guy onto the list. Another thing, the false tattoo guy is names Waelynn, or something of the sort. The village looks brighter now mixed with light yellows and mellow blues. For some reason, Silent Night is playing in the background. There's a small river below where a witch sails on a... canoe?
Really cool dream man, very colorful
I wrote his actual backstory down somewhere... Uh... FOUND IT
Okay, wait, I need to analyze my dream and focus SPECIFICALLY on Waelynn now.

So, BUILDING OFF OF MY DREAM HERE TO CREATE A BACKSTORY, Waelynn is basically this Regular Guy™ in this Quaint Village™ with folks he knew for like years. Some of these folks are what I'm gonna call Witch Finders, or Witch Pleasers. ...My dream explains this, HAHA, but basically they appease the witches of the Mountains™. He has never truly felt at home in this Quaint Village™, so he follows these Witch Finders/Pleasers to the Mountains™.
Fast forward to where he's actually seen in the dream, a couple witches inspect this guy because Why Is His Aura So Weird And Familiar? One witch has the bright idea of running their hand down his back (which I still think is the weirdest part of the witch village dream) and Woah, That's Definitely Chitin. After this Revelation™, Waelynn's like "What the hell man! How can I be a Regular Guy™ now?!" and "Ohhh... So those symptoms really meant I was a witch... That makes a little more sense now..."
AND THEN TO PRESENT DAY, HE EMBRACES THE FACT THAT HE'S A FUCKING WITCH BECAUSE HE FINALLY BELONGS. HE CAN BE HIS TRUE SELF WITHOUT QUESTIONING "Is this normal?" because OF COURSE IT'S NOT! Sure, it might put off some of the townspeople he used to know, but they weren't true friends anyway. AND this fits with him being a Fallen Oracle for LUMINOVAELLA because SHE IS THE DEITY OF RADIANCE!! EXPRESSION!! GRACE!! She doesn't gaf bro just Be Yourself™.
Okay, yeah, AEONI out.
I also drew him a while ago... Uh, CW for spider features and artistic nudity (1st image) I guess?
Started playing the Crooked Moon campaign with my (ex) co-workers like... half a year ago, so now is a good time to finish my character portrait. This is my silkborn circle of the old ways druid, Kebekhet.
