... "artist", "creative", "host", "connector", "engager", "media personality"... I've been searching for titles to encapsulate who I am & what I do. My calling. I know I am a lot more than a recording artist & entertainer, and I understand that's what most people know me as. I still am that. But I'm so much more! I love interviewing others in a host capacity & have done this on air on Project Bounce and the "Love is Moving" and "Context w Lorna Dueck" TV shows. I love documenting life through photography (silkkaya.vsco.co or click on #silkkayaphotograhy) I write poetry & prose that I plan to publish one day (#silkkayawrites). I have so many content ideas for multi-platform creative media projects, podcasts, documentaries, series. The sky is the limit but sometimes I don't know how to encapsulate it all succinctly, or where or how to start. I share this w y'all publicly today bc I had a breakthrough! I've been struggling with having so many different and seemingly unrelated creative ideas & goals. Until I realized they are all born out of the same driving force: storytelling. I know I am more than a rapper. I love to coax out, validate & honour other peoples' stories. I love to share my own. I love to do this through different creative mediums. Any platform that will give me the opportunity to do this is an opportunity I am jumping at. I look forward to more opportunities to operate in my creative giftings this year. I am a atoryteller. And I'm ready.
