“On the Record” documentary review “On the Record” is the most important documentary of the #MeToo era for rape and sexual misconduct survivors. It has a goal to teach Black girls and women how to stand up and have the courage to report any type of sexual assault. “On the Record” also forces society to change the long held mindset that all Black girls are socialized to be hoes/whores and therefore are incapable of being raped because we are promiscuous by nature. The “On the Record” documentary gives #MeToo survivors the tools to begin to change the false perception that “we must have been asking for it.” After viewing “On the Record,” it is my sincere hope that #RussellSimmons, the serial rapist, bust hell wide open while wearing gasoline draws - for the atrocities that he has committed to my Black sisters. #DrewDixon, #SilLaiAbrams #SheriSher and the #OnTheRecordDoc shero survivors, I believe you and support you. #BreakTheSilence Written by: #EvaMarieKing, MS, Founder and Chairwoman @RockawaysFinestMedia Saturday, June 12, 2020 ©Copyright 2020 E.
