people trying to excuse julie for writing the s4e5 fight scene that portrayed ALL boys of colour in a violent manner by bringing up the fights in s1 and s2 being blindingly white (side note: white people calling themselves ,,yakuza,, is appropriation that’s confirmed) completely ignores the fact that people of colour suffer from such representation in more ways than whites (if they suffer from it at all)
when wilhelm and his group fought the ,,yakuza,, boys, what we got from the other characters was praise
when elias was shown in that conflict where isak was hurt, elias was being called ,,crazy,, and other racist things while fandom also ,,cancelled,, him
what i’m saying is bringing up how whites also get portrayed as violent in previous seasons do not undermine the negative effects resulting from the s4e5 fight scene
it’s like when poc get called names/slurs and whites are like “yea we get called becky too and it’s also a slur* so your complaints aren’t valid” -- the difference is we suffer in more ways than one when being portrayed as ALL violent... just ask the police
