After beating him in KH3 critical and rn struggling at proud mode Ansem Riku... shotout to MX for shouting encouraging words at Sora all the time despite the circumstances. Two hours of “You’re nothing” make for a different fight experience. It is very interesting Xehanort is sooo nice verbally to a rival he just got.
thank you! and it so interesting you mention that because i kinda went off in this twitter thread yesterday about how MX is definitely a condescending asshole, but going off of his death speech, one who genuinely feels as if he’s doing a necessary evil and otherwise seems to quite like humanity (or the potential for it to be greater) and bears no actual ill will towards the people he uses as pawns. his greatest hatred for anyone stems from ignorance and most of his mockery towards Sora tends to be of the kinda people from older generations tend to do in general towards younger generations.
basically, MX just genuinely bears no grudge or even ill intent towards Sora and just kinda wants him to play his role and then fuck off somewhere lmao, and it’s nice that his dialogue during battle solidifies that interpretation
