Nix froze in place when Rhyne clung to her arm, begging her to not leave his side. She never saw him react in such a way before, this situation truly shook him down to the core. How could she even consider sacrificing herself like that and leaving him all alone? Seeing him cry like that, staring up at her, it hurt.. And was all the motivation she needed to keep moving. While Nix would’ve loved to cut down these odd ghosts of man, she couldn’t leave Rhyne like this. The mage was hurt too and leaving his side would make it worse.

The silverette put her weapon away and reached out with her free hand to wipe some of his tears away, forcing a small smile. “I’m not going to leave you, Rhyne.. I promised I would stay by your side and I almost broke that promise. Thank you for being here for me. Now.. Let’s get out of here together.” Nix scanned their surroundings, she was used to rocky terrain but it would be a bit difficult with the idea in mind.. Though she quickly spotted a trail, a strip of flat land. Just what she needed, the perfect footing for a swift escape.

Nix scooped the dark mage into her arms, ignoring the pain the best she could. She wasn’t going to let him get hurt anymore, not while she had him nearby. So the mercenary took off as fast as her legs would carry her, darting past their would-be assailants. “Hang on, Rhyne.. Camp shouldn’t be too far off..” The silverette muttered, not slowing down in the least as she kept on the path..
