The fated night is upon us! Unaware of the events about to happen, the people of Silver Lake are going about their lively Friday evenings. Some are in bars, some in clubs, some dining, others out on a late night stroll. It’s a lively and warm Friday night in April at 67 degrees, skies clear of clouds. Music drifts from cars, the moon is climbing up to hang in the sky above the reservoir. And then — it happens. The power is cut in every bar, restaurant, house and establishment. Even the street lights have gone out, leaving most of Silver Lake in pitch darkness. Aside from the cars driving down the strip, there are no lights anywhere. A total power blackout.
IN CHARACTER DETAILS:
In game, this blackout happens on Friday, April 24th. The time the blackout occurs is 9:48 pm, and the time the power will be restored will be 5:16 am. This gives your characters 7 hours in which to experience blackout related madness and mayhem!
This is a citywide blackout, with all of Los Angeles losing power, so your character could really be anywhere.
As power has been cut through the entire city, communication towers are also temporarily down, meaning there is no cell service. Your character cannot make calls, go online or access wifi from their phone. Emergency hotlines are also down at the moment.
OOC RULES:
You may now begin your para pair-up threads if you have them, and begin posting starters related to the event! In addition to our regular starter rules, please tag your starters with #slblackout, so we know they are for the event.
OOC, this event will carry on from today, April 24th, until Thursday, April 30th.
You are allowed to do both event and non-event threads, or continue only non-event threads if you really feel your characters would do nothing significant during the blackout.
On the 30th, the event will be officially over. No more new event starters can be posted in relation to the event, and you are encouraged not to answer them after that time. You may carry on with the blackout threads you started, though.
You may give your character a minor injury, setback, or any other mischief or mayhem that you may wish or think of. However major injuries or death, as usual, must be run by the main.
Below the cut you will find your para pairs for the Silver Lake Blackout! The pairs, as well as the location they end up in, have all been chosen via a randomizer. Please note the time during which the blackout happens, which is 9:48 p.m (it will last approx 7-8 hours). Your pairs did not have to come to the location they are at together, nor do they have to know each other beforehand. This is an opportunity to branch out and interact with someone you may or may not know yet!
Note: this does not signal the start of the event just yet. That will be coming on Friday. This is simply to give you some time to plan your paras!
