OOC: Here’s another fun little mini-event we’ve whipped up for you all, consisting of a wheel (much like this one) that characters can spin. The outcomes will either be prizes to win or events that will happen to your character, both good and bad!!
RULES:
If you would like to participate, either like this post or drop the names of your characters (if you have more than one) that you want to spin the wheel on behalf of!
We will spin the wheel (completely randomized), and drop the outcome on @silverlakeinspo.
It is optional, but we would love to see you incorporate these into your threads, starters, or anything else you wish! You can even write up drabbles or self paras, make an #slsocial post about it — whatever you wish!
If your character lands an unfortunate event, do not worry, the outcome won’t be too disastrous and most likely won’t land your character in hospital. In fact, a lot of these outcomes are open ended, so ultimately, you get to decide the fate of your character!

WHAT’S THE 411?
IN CHARACTER DETAILS:
Five by Night will open their doors to the past at 3 P.M. and provide everything you will need to spend an awesome afternoon and evening soaking up that sweet nostalgia! Karaoke duels, 90′s party games, and more in store!
Once it gets dark, we will be heading over to Los Globos at 10 P.M. to party the night away on a dancefloor jam packed with all the essential 90′s hits. From NSYNC to TLC and even the Notorious B.I.G., we've got ALLL your faves covered!
OOC DETAILS:
While the party will take place on June 20th in character, this event will be taking place from JUNE 19 — JUNE 26, so mark your calendars and save the date!

COSTUME CONTEST
Been looking for an excuse to break out your capris, tattoo chokers, and platform sneakers? Well, search no more! To truly encourage all guests to party in style, Five by Night will be hosting a costume contest! Come as your favorite TV character, that teen idol you plastered all over your walls, or whatever else your 90s heart desires. There will be a vote — and of course prizes for the winners.
CONTEST DETAILS:
You can come as your favorite celebrity or character of the time, so coming dressed as Phoebe Buffay or Ginger Spice are equally acceptable!
DIY is king! Instead of a premade costume you could get for $20 on Amazon, we’d love to see a more unique spin on your character that you put together.
How you put your costume together is entirely up to you and there is no need to get too fancy with graphics unless you want to! Throwing together a photo set is just as valid as doing something elaborate in Photoshop.
We encourage you to keep your character’s budget in mind when putting their look together.
Duplicates may happen and are allowed -- that’s competition, baby! If you want to make absolutely sure no one else shows up in the same outfit as you, you’re just gonna have to make it as original as possible.
You are encouraged add a caption, some details if you like or even short headcanons to go with your post, or anything else you like.
Feel free to post about/discuss your character’s costumes in the OOC blog, or collaborate on a group theme together!
You can use Urstyle (a website like Polyvore), or any other site to help put together your character’s costume!
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES:
To have your character’s costume considered for the competition, you must post the photo/photoset to your character’s blog, and then send it to us via IM, either to the main or to @silverlakeinspo.
You can begin creating, posting and submitting these costumes now! There is no rush though, as the deadline for voting/submitting will run until the very end of the event on the 26th.
The rules on voting will be announced at the start of the event, so stay tuned!

Saturday has finally rolled around here in Silver Lake ladies and gentlefolk, and we are ready to kick off our Back To The 90s party! Prepare for a day and night of games, dancing, and partying until the early hours!
OOC: Please read the event descriptions below, as we have quite a lot going on with this event, both IC and OOC! There will be a few separate posts coming in regards to costume competition details and other things, so keep a lookout for those too!

Though we still do not have an official Discord server, this will be a onetime, IC chat event where characters can party it up in quick chat mode in both Five By Night and Los Globos and! The chat will start at 2 PM PST // 5 PM EST // 10 PM GMT so set your alarms! If you would like to participate, just add bernard black#9974 before the event starts and we will add you to the server.
MONDAY 22nd: SURPRISE PLOT DROP!

Feeling lucky? Put it to the test when we bring out the big Wheel of Fortune! Spin the wheel if you dare and receive a prize or plot drop for your character specifically. More details to come in another post, but go grab your lucky socks and get ready. But be warned, some outcomes may not be pleasant!

The event officially ends. This will be the last chance to submit your votes for who your characters think should win the costume competition, after which time the votes will be tallied and the winners and runners up of the costume competition will be announced!

Start off your evening by grabbing a tropical cocktail or beer at our main bar! The TV screens around our bar will be showing episodes of The Fresh Prince, Friends, Sex and the City, and even Twin Peaks!
If you get peckish, we have an entire array of nostalgic treats including Sno cones, Squeezits, Dunkaroos, some good old American Pie, and even an Easy Bake Oven DIY station! And not to mention the staple of any 90s party: pizza, pizza, and more pizza.
Board Game Mania
In this room, we've got all the classics: Girl Talk, Operation, Mall Madness, Fraidy Cats, and even Do the Urkel! Come see if you’ve still got it with all the great board games you used to play.
Spin the Bottle x Seven Minutes in Heaven
This one’s for those of you for whom the 90s was less childhood nostalgia and more sweet teen memories! Come join us for a good ol’ game of spin the bottle, complete with dares, shots to drink, and seven minutes in heaven for some special lucky someones! Ooh la la!
Movie Room
If you want to get away from it all for a brief respite, you can come chill in our beanbag-strewn movie room, where we will be screening all your favorite 90s films, from Pretty Woman to Jurassic Park!
Video Games on the Upper Deck
Thanks to a collaboration with Ready Player One, we’ve got consoles on our upper floor patio if you want to play Mario Bros, Zelda, Street Fighter, and more!
Arts ‘n’ Crafts on the Upper Deck
Miss the time when you used to make arts and crafts in class, or just miss the feeling of being the chaotic kid who’d cover their hands in Elmer’s glue just to peel them off? Join us at the arts and crafts table where we’ll recreate all your favourite crafts, such as spaghetti necklaces, friendship bracelets, beaded lizard keychains, shirt bedazzling, and not to mention, all the scented markers you can sniff.
Annie Are You Ok, Karaoke
Our famed karaoke rooms will be open all day and all night for anyone wanting to bust out a ballad, belter, or beloved 90s rap song! Think you can rap like MC Hammer? Belt a little Celine Dion? Take on a group Spice Girls rendition? It’s all happening here!
*FYI, if clubbing is not the scene for you, Five By Night will be keeping its doors open late into the night, until 3AM!
As soon as 10 PM rolls around, just two blocks down from Five By Night, Los Globos opens its doors and our guests will come pouring into the two-floored nightclub. We will have an array of deejays spinning the decks this night, including DJ Jude Nolan (a.k.a. DJ Rude Nolan) and DJ Ione Cora!

Well, that’s all folks. Enough karaoke ballads have been sung at Five By Night to power a city for a day, and more 90′s themed crafts have been made than there are fish in the sea. Everyone’s all danced out and heading home in their ubers, definitely less sober than they arrived. The 90s may have come for one night only, but the decade will forever live on in our Friends loving, Spice Girls obsessed hearts...
A Few Notes
The event is officially over now! We ask that no more new event-related starters or threads be made from this point onwards, and furthermore, we will be removing event starters from the starter blog so going forward people do not reblog them.
You may wrap up or continue writing your current even threads, as well as resume pre-event ones.
Don’t forget to vote for best costume!! The deadline for sending in your votes will be Monday, 11:59 pm GMT. After this, we will be tallying votes and crowning our costume competition winners.

Aaaand, the time has finally come for the big reveal of the night! After all the dancing and revelling has been done and the house lights have been switched back on, all party attendees at Los Globos are given slips of paper to put down their choice of best costume, slip it into the ballot box and cast their vote. It’s all getting very serious, and the winners will be leaving the party with prizes.
VOTING RULES
To vote, look up the backtothe90sentry tag on @silverlakeinspo. There are 4 pages worth of entries so make sure you’ve browsed them all!
Send an IM to the main containing you character’s vote. I.e. “Jennifer is voting for Lexi’s costume.” If you have more than one character, you can list them all: “Jennifer votes for Lexi, Amber for John, Jade for Crystal.” etcetera.
We have a handful of characters who came in more than one outfit, so please specify which one you are voting for if that is the case!
Since not all players have 3 characters, and some have 2 or 1, and in the attempt to make this as fair as possible, we ask all members to vary your votes. That means, if you have 3 characters, you cannot have them all vote for the same character, and if you have 2, they cannot both vote for the same character. This will help make the vote more fair.
This is an in-character vote, so please consider who your character would find best dressed (and not you, personally), and vote accordingly please.
WINNERS
Winners will be announced once we have closed voting (most likely 24-48 hours after the end of the event is announced) and tallied all our votes.
