My family stayed in a motel 6 one (1) night with my family 20ish years ago and I can still recall every horrible minute of it. Would seriously consider sleeping in the car if motel 6 was my only option.
1) Lost one of our reservations despite us (ME SPECIFICALLY) reserving two rooms. Tried to argue with us about it when we insisted we had them.
3) Had shitty WiFi which is a sin in and of itself.
4) When asked about it they said that the WiFi was free, but there was an optional premium WiFI I could purchase. We weren’t even staying twelve hours. I was not going to pay for WiFi for the hour and a half I would not be sleeping. Spent two hours on homework instead of one because the WiFi was slow and kept cutting out.
5) Extra negative points for making me consider buying the Premium WiFi to get through my homework.
6) No pool. This actually wasn’t a problem for me but my older sister was miffed. They had a hot tub though which apparently made up for it.
7) Shower situation was HMMMM bad. The curtain was not long enough. I made a mess and felt like shit for the housekeeper. Had to leave a note saying “Sorry for the water! I mopped up what I could.” Considered pitching myself into the bay in shame. Also when it wasn’t icy cold it was scalding hot, and it felt like needles on my skin. Showers were my one moment away from my entire family and it wasn’t the solace I desired, only pain.
8) The doors weren’t fucking sealed properly? I could see daylight around the door even with it closed and dead-bolted. It let in all the noise off the highway and all the cold off the bay. Even with the heat on, I was cold. I hate being hot for health reasons, but I despite being cold for even more.
9) Not technically their fault but a baseball team checked in and they were annoying. What was their fault was the lack of insulation so I heard the conversations on both sides of me AND the sound of them moving their beds upstairs. Why did they need to move their beds so much. What were you doing up there. Where were your chaperones.
+1) My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 was on and I love that movie.
