Today I was thinking about my fanfiction and about yu yu hakusho and I was like Hm I wonder what lesbiangenkai thinks of Keiko, if anything?! So here I am.
oh i had to get off mobile and break out the keyboard for this one...i LOVE keiko, so much. togashi is dumb as fuck for hating keiko or thinking she’s boring because 1) she’s amazing and 2) he’s the one that wasted her potential by just...not letting her do anything but this isn’t about how togashi treats women its about how amazing keiko is so. i think she’s just such a good person and her love of yusuke is really sweet and i’m not even talking about in a romantic sense i just think that the way she genuinely cares about yusuke and wants to see him healthy and well is so so important. that moment in the DT when she’s thinking to herself no matter how much yusuke got on her nerves she’d always worry about whether or not he ate at night...knowing yusuke’s home situation and knowing how everyone else around him treated him keiko just being this warm, constant source of positive love and affection is so good. and she’s really chill!! despite fics constantly depicting her as nagging or half forcing yusuke into a relationship she’s not like that at all. she’s so supportive when she thinks yusuke’s actually working for a detective agency she’s like “oh! okay” and rolls w it and when she finds out about the supernatural stuff she’s like “dude you didn’t have to lie to me i just want to make sure you’re okay” she never actively prevents him from accomplishing his goals even if she knows how dangerous it is and even if she has her own reservations she just wants him to be okay. and keiko also really rides this line of being a support character but not being a house plant that just waits for yusuke to come back and pay attention to her, she has her own goals and wants and i like that she breaks up with him! in the manga especially it’s left up in the air whether or not they even get back together (although it does lean towards a big possibility but it’s still...open and i like that). but the fact that she’s like hey i get you need to do your own thing and i hope you find yourself but i’m not pausing my whole life until you figure it out....she’s sooo good. also side note but keiko is also a bi queen im so tired of being posts about her like she’s Nagging Heterosexual ruining yusuke’s life esp after she’s like “oh you wanna run around the demon world for 3 years well i’m going to an all girls school and theres a boys school next door SEE YA”
