Do you think the Walter Robots ever encounter the ship of theseus paradox when they have parts replaced, where like if someone had, say... The Spine's original parts and assembled them into the original model, which one would be the real The Spine?
ok so like this is an interesting question because, to my understanding, the ship of theseus is, like, a boat. its a thing. regardless of its had all its parts replaced it cannot have an opinion on its identity as a ship
but, despite legally being heavy machinery, the bots are people. we don't know how much they changed rabbit's body when she transitioned thats still rabbit.
I also assume the bots get regular maintenance that comes with a lot of replacing parts because things are constantly being worn down or breaking as a result of regular use.
so like, my answer is I think the two things aren't comparable but this would be a good way to make the spine's anxiety worse

Do you have a favorite edition of Peter Walter?
the original just
imagine a guy with every mental illness who gets a happy ending but only as the result of a ton of fuck ups he made and he has to feel bad about that for the rest of his life. imagine the poor fucker from the end of Karma by AJR except its the 1890s and mental health awareness is nonexistent
also i love that despite having a LOT of nerodivergent traits all the bad things he does are because of choices he consciously made. usually repentant character's wrongdoings were misunderstandings or something blown out of proportion. but no peter genuinely makes bad choices but is still allowed to become a better person.
his story is just so bittersweet because it always ends at "this guy spent the rest of his life trying to make up for the hurt he caused" but we never get told if he succeeded bc thats not really a thing you can measure. and we know the characters talk about him like this heroic whimsical innovator but. we'll never find out if he felt like he could finally be at peace
also am a sucker for him ultimately having been a good pappy and cute babybots stuff. i mean im dating @cosmignon

11. Most surprising moment?
Julian’s eye reveal, I was just so surprised it was in there so early! I thought for sure they’d keep us waiting for more books.
But in terms of actual events, Muriel’s curse/gift reveal, I really didn’t see that coming!
22. Talk about your apprentice!
My apprentice is Adelaide, I only have one apprentice atm,
Adelaide is a very kind-hearted, patient woman. She’s very stubborn and will not back out of an argument if she thinks she’s right. She’s confident, almost arrogant, and always trying to look at things more positively.
Losing her memory has shaken Adelaide’s confidence, and she feels the need to proof herself, sometimes with disastrous consequences. She’s always up to flirt, a big romantic and shamelessly cheesy.
Adelaide was born into a wealthy family, a family closely connected to Lucio’s family, which is why she and her family frequently visited the city. That’s also how she met Nadia, and became very close to her. And thanks to that friendship she also met Asra.
When the plague hit, Adelaide’s family didn’t want to return to Vesuvia, but Adelaide went anyway, knowing it would likely lead to her family disowning her for disobeying them. She apprenticed under Julian because his clinic was the only one still trying to treat plague victims. It was a small clinic that Nadia financed.
Adelaide believed she could find a cure, because she was confident in her magic abilities, but her confidence bordered on arrogance and that is what eventually caused her to catch the plague.
