Blind Date-Drabble for silverpersimmons
A blind date? You have got to be kidding me. When the hell do I do this sort of thing? Emelina huffed, fitting into a lovely black dress for the random occasion, wondering why the hell she'd agreed to it in the first place. She hated romantic encounters; she was always so awkward at trying to stimulate some sort of conversation between she and her partner, that she avoided nearly entirely. But with some careful and elegant words of her fellow Numero, Annalise, she'd agreed to going on this blind date. Just this once. Though she was a bit nervous as to who may be on the other end of such an occasion.
Opening the Garganta to the human world, where the designated date would be taking place, Emelina took a deep breath, stretching the limbs of her gigai out a bit before stepping foot into the darkened void between the worlds. The walk, which usually seemed like an eternity, seemed to pass by in mere seconds as the anticipation of the dreaded date sped up time, much to the redhead's displeasure. This brought her more out of her box than anything ever had, to be perfectly frank, and she didn't like it one bit. She should be back in her chambers, reading her latest book. But no. She was in the human world, alone in an empty alleyway from where the Garganta had opened up.
Looking around, sensing for any reiatsu that felt somewhat familiar, she remembered where she was instructed to go. It was a small Italian restaurant that was a short distance from where she now stood, and she allowed her feet to carry her forward into the cool evening air, emerald eyes sweeping the shops and restaurants, searching for the correct place. It didn't take long for her to find the dimly lit restaurant, and taking a deep breath she stepped into the establishment, running a nervous hand through her crimson mane, eyes falling upon the server, who seemed ready to seat her at her table.
"You are looking lovely this evening, my dear," the waiter said, offering a charming smile to the nervous girl, which did nothing to help her in the least. He'd have been better off leading her to her table without a word, but no, it couldn't be that easy, not at all. Her stomach churned as her seat came into sight, and the man sitting at across from her empty chair caused her emerald orbs to widen substantially, her mouth forming a small 'o' shape as the waiter ushered her into her chair.
Waiting until the man left, she turned to the fox-faced ex-captain before her, hissing, "I-Ichimaru-sama?! You're my...my blind date? What the hell is this?!" Her cheeks flushed a deep red, nearly dark enough to match her curls. "Why the hell would you agree to go on this damn stupid...event with me. A godforsaken Numero. I'm supposed to serve you! Not go on a date with you!"
Ichimaru seemed rather amused by the woman's quiet outburst, his all to familiar, eerie grin in place upon his fox-like face. "Well, I didn' think that ya'd act like this, Emelina. Woulda though ya'd be excited~" His comment only provoked a frown to mar her already upset features.
"I've only been stressing myself over this since I was convinced to do this!" she retorted in an angry stammer, watching as the waiter brought two glasses of water for the pair. As he waited for their orders, Emelina huffed and told him what she wanted, arms folding angrily across her chest, still blushing. She felt like a complete and total fool as her eyes bore into silver-haired man's face, and he steadily looked back, his expression still in his customary unreadable grin. Her lips were curved into a deep frown, one that was unlikely to go away for the remainder of the night, especially after the next words he spoke.
"Ah, dun be like that, darlin'~. We've still got tha whole night ahead of us~"
It took everything in her power not to launch a cero at his face right then and there.
