Getting a good start on this Ledebouria socialis painting. It's a very beautiful and interesting little plant - a south African member of the hyacinth family - that makes a good houseplant. I just picked this one up over the weekend but I would love to hear about anyone else's experiences with growing it! #silversquill#ledebouria

Ledebouria socialis, though I still think of them as Scilla: a south African species of the subfamily Scilloideae, recently added to the Asparagaceae family. These perennials of the arid savanna in the Eastern Cape area make charming house plants.
