If anyone else in any other circle was saying it, it might not have given her pause. But this was Debbie talking. Debbie the criminal with all the criminal friends  (  Who she was also trying to befriend, but that was besides the point right now  ) and Daphne was new to this. She didn’t know the rules, didn’t know the intricacies of this world. So it gives her pause. For a rare moment, she’s speechless. But a question hangs in her head, one she has to voice, and does so in a near whisper. She has to know.

‘  ––––––– But she’s not one, right? She’s not a murderer?  

THERE’S A PAUSE   .   a painfully long pause where debbie pretends to be thinking really carefully about the woman’s question   .   even though there’s no need to be doing such thing   (   one of them   ?   a murderer   ?   seriously   ?   )   ,   she knows it’s going to be worth seeing daphne’s expression in the end   .  

 ❝   oh   ,   lou   ?   no   ,   she isn’t   ---------   wait   .   no   .   not her   .   she’s not the murderer here   .   ❞

 @silverstays   //        ogeda ------an alliance made, a decision fought for, those who stood in polis to bear witness to the final conclave echo the call, and victorious relief washes over her in the aftermath of it all. turning she clasps, arm’s with roan in repetition of a time not so long ago, and the truce made on the battlefield that served to accomplish much more than they could have hoped.  but exhausted muscles almost fail her for a moment, and her other hand moves to his shoulder to steady herself. 

          it’s then, and only then, that octavia realizes there is one face missing from the crowd, one voice she would have expected to hear over all the others. wide-eyed with worry, her gaze flits over kane, indra, gaia, before meeting roan’s, the last person to have seen bellamy, as far as she knows. her grip tightens, and --- while she’s not accusing --- energy she didn’t think could remain after all of this manifests into mild panic, and her voice is tight with the effort of containing it as she speaks.

“I know you’re going to be working your way back up to squadron commander soon, take the time to learn from him. Outside of my brother, he was the best fighter pilot the Rebellion had.”

      “  did she live here with you ?  ”   the singer asked curiously as she looked around the little cottage her son in law had made a home of,  her heart clenching painfully as she caught sight of the pictures of donna scattered around the place.  pictures with sam,  pictures with sophie,  her friends… r uby didn’t think she’d taken a picture with her daughter in more than twenty five years.  another regret she could add to her collection.
