With one eye there was no point in keeping binoculars, that was obvious enough. Negotiating a price had been tiresome but worth it in end - with this he should be able to replace them with a monocular. The small gadget shops in the Fibonacci Ward were better than most for this. If you were careful you could make a rewarding exchange.
In between the shelves something catches his eye - grey with spots tail, peeking to his field of vision. Curious his head turns - now that he looks he notices some of the fur is actually underneath his foot. Not much and it does feel like it’s only fur and not the tough part of the tail.
He rises his eye upwards meeting the tail where it connects and finally the person itself - just as he turns towards his direction.
