“Are you okay, Jesse?”
You leaned against the door frame of your shared bedroom, watching your boyfriend in amusement. All that was sticking out from the mound of blankets was a chocolate-brown tail. A small grunt was your answer. “Do you want some breakfast?”
You didn't get an answer for a moment, before the smallest grunt was able to be heard.
“Okay, I'll go make you some breakfast.” You turned and walked back into the kitchen to get started on some breakfast for him. You knew he had been out late and that he was tired, but you also knew he probably didn't eat anything last night. You rummaged through the fridge, pulling out a carton of eggs and various meats. You began to cook, humming softly as you did so. You knew Jesse preferred his meat on the rare side, and that soon he would be unable to stay under the covers due to the delicious smell. Less than five minutes later, he emerged from the bedroom. His brown hair was tousled and dirty, with bits of sticks and grass in it. His clothes were ripped in places and dirty, with mud coating a good majority of it.
None of this phased you, as it was a sight you had seen plenty of times before. “Morning Jesse. Sleep well?” You teased slightly.
Jesse threw you a sour look before collapsing on the couch. You were just able to see the tips of Jesse's ears from his new position. “Hope you're hungry.”
“Starvin'.”
You couldn't help but smile. “Why don't we take a bath after breakfast?”
“You sayin' I stink?”
“Yeah.”
Jesse lifted his head to look at you.
“Badly.” You added in with a grin.
Jesse simply flashed you his fangs, in warning or amusement you weren't sure. Jesse waited patiently on the couch until you had finished making breakfast. The smell of the cooking steak was making his mouth water. You dished up his food, setting it on the table. “Jesse, come!” You laughed slightly, taking a step back as Jesse pushed you up against the table.
“What a good housewife you are, darlin'.” He purred, running a clawed hand down your chest. “I'm sure you'd make a man real happy one day.”
You rolled your eyes. “One of us has to be the man in the relationship, you know. And it ain't you.” You poked his chest. “Besides, just because I can cook doesn't make me a housewife. The fact that I do everything around here makes me the housewife.”
“And I appreciate you for everything you do.” He bowed his head mockingly to you before sitting down. “Thank you for breakfast, y/n. It smells delicious.”
You rolled your eyes, leaning in to give him a quick kiss before he started on his food. Jesse happily returned the kiss before turning his attention to the plate of food before him. You could almost see the drool.
You sat across from him and ate your own breakfast. “There's more on the counter. Enough for-” You stopped mid sentence. One second Jesse was in his seat, and the next he was filling his plate once again. You blinked again and he was back in his seat, as if he had never moved. “Never mind.”
You sighed slightly and turned your attention back on your breakfast. Jesse was already halfway done his second plate, bits of egg and steak littered among his beard. “You can be gross sometimes, you know that?” You said, watching him. You knew that he didn't eat last night and that he would have been hungry, but not this hungry. “Where did you go last night?”
“Eh, about two towns over? Not too far.”
“Ran the whole way, did you?”
Jesse simply nodded, his mouth full. “Well, at least you'll have burned some energy. Won't need to go to the dog park now at least.”
“Ha ha. Very funny.” Jesse rolled his eyes, almost finished his second plate already. “You almost done hun? That bath sounds real nice.” As if to make his point, he shook his head, causing multiple sticks and dirt to fall onto the table and floor around him.
“Can you not do that?” You asked in annoyance. “Unless you're planning on cleaning it up?”
“I'll clean it.”
“That's what you said last time, Jesse. You didn't do it.”
“Sorry darlin'.”
You sighed. You quickly finished your breakfast, grabbing both of your plates and setting them in the sink. Jesse wrapped his arms around you, pulling you against his chest. You looked over your shoulder at him, raising an eyebrow.
“I'm the luckiest man in the world.” Jesse stated before he leaned in to kiss you once again. “For I have the best boyfriend in the world.”
“You're the luckiest, huh?” You mused, watching him. “I don't think so. I think I'm the luckiest. I have you, after all.” You ran a hand through his hair, two fingers running down his ear. “You and your soft ears.”
Jesse shook his head, much like a dog, grinning at you. “Thanks for putting up with me, y/n.” Jesse murmured, a sudden softness to his voice. “I'm sure it can't be easy for you.”
“You're fine, Jesse.” You replied, brushing a strand of hair from his face. “I love you, and your quirks. There's nothing wrong with you.”
“I'm a werewolf. That's not exactly normal.”
“Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with you.” You placed both of your hands on his shoulders. “I love you, Jesse McCree. Werewolf and all.” You kissed him once again. “You stink. Really badly.”
“Thanks.”
“Let's go take that bath, shall we? Help you get all cleaned up.”
Jesse smiled, carefully taking your hand in his clawed one. “That sounds really nice. We can watch some movies after too, if you want.”
“That sounds great, Jess.”
