My Sims from TS4 have no self-preservation instinct to speak of. Like, in TS3, I could leave my Sims for fifteen minutes and trust that they wouldn't accidentally kill themselves, but, when I left TS4 for ten minutes to get the newspaper, one of my Sims managed to burn down the house (and himself with it). Later, when I went back to my last saved game and left them alone for five minutes to make some tea, that same Sim managed to kill himself through sunlight. This is why, as much as I adore my Sims from TS4, I don't trust them.
