SimDonia Parliament Building | Cypress, SimDonia
Tina: Alright, onto our final order of business before we adjourn.
Tina: We have an agenda item from Willington Palace to consider implementing the Watcher's Prayer into public schools to prioritize the monarchy and religion.
Concerned chatter
Tina: Okay, quiet please! Lords, what say you?
Lord Jackson: I have to say, I'm surprised by this agenda item. I think of any entity; Willington Palace should know that implementing a Jacoban prayer into schools is against some of the core values of this country including freedom of religion and separation of church and state.
Lady Tara: I'd have to agree. I can't think of a single reason why we would start requiring children to practice religion in schools now.
Lord Jonothan: It's a bit laughable really. I'm sure they knew something like this wouldn't pass.
Lady Khadijah: Yes, it's absolutely a hard pass for me. I would hate to alienate anyone with different beliefs.
Lady Naia: As a Peteran myself, I can see why Willington would want to bring the values that religion aligns with in schools. Being a good person, helping others, things of that nature. I wonder if there is a way to do that without tying it to any one religion.
Tina: Good point, Naia. Let's work on drafting something up for the next public session. At this time, we have unanimous nays on the issue, so that concludes this session. Thank you.
