The Pancakes Convention Center | Umbrage, SimDonia
Dawn: Welcome everyone to our keynote interview. My name is Dawn Summer and I'm a SimDonia Ambassador from Whitmore.
Dawn: Our guest of honor today, of course, needs no introduction. But I'll give one anyway! Please welcome SimDonia's first Queen, fifth monarch, head of the Jacoban church and most importantly, mother to Crown Prince Parker, Princess Mia and Prince Gerhard Jr. named after Prince Gerhard - Her Majesty Diana Ophelia Winston De Geloes!
Diana: Hello, everyone. Thank you for coming. And thank you, Dawn, for that lovely introduction. Please, call me Diana.
Dawn: Of course, Diana. Thank you so much for agreeing to this interview.
Diana: Absolutely. I'm excited for the opportunity.
Dawn: Before we begin, I must ask - how are the children doing? We love getting updates on the young princes and princess! The photo released this week was adorable.
Diana: Oh, thank you. The kids are absolutely amazing. Parker is doing great in both traditional and in his REC (Regal Excellency Curriculum). Mia has a lot of personality! And baby Gerhard is reaching all his milestones. It's so exciting to watch them all grow.
Dawn: That's amazing, Diana. Thank you for sharing. So glad they are doing well! Now, let's talk about you. How is it, really, being SimDonia's first Queen? I imagine that comes with a lot of pressure!
Diana: It certainly does, but I try to use that to fuel me to do better. Being the first is never easy, but at the same time an honor. I want to be able to show all the young women including my own daughter and other young women in my family how powerful they can be. There is so much potential in young women in this country.
Dawn: So true and so inspiring. Thank you. So, Diana, how would you describe your reign so far as Queen?
Diana: Well, as challenging as it is, I believe there is a lot to be proud of. We've strengthened our relationships internationally, the monarch supports more patronages than ever before, and I feel as though all branches of our government are working together seamlessly.
Dawn: What do you feel has brought on this positive change?
Diana: We have a hard-working royal family. Every member is showing up, supporting and doing their part to support the monarchy.
Dawn: That’s impressive. It appears the expectations for the royal family are higher now than ever before. How do you balance the pressure put on the family while also holding everyone accountable?
Diana: I believe high standards are necessary for maintaining the monarchy’s strength and dignity. We are all here to serve SimDonia first and foremost. I believe that's clear to all who support the crown.
Dawn: Absolutely. Going back to your comment about the branches of government working seamlessly, there was a recent law amendment from your office regarding religion in schools. It was swiftly rejected in Parliament. How does that affect your relationship with the Prime Minister and the Lords moving forward?
Diana: Any law proposed by the monarchy is done with the best interest of the people in mind. While it was disappointing to see that amendment rejected, it’s also a reminder that every branch of government has a voice, and we respect that process.
Dawn: Fair enough. But what do you say to critics who suggest that amendment, along with stricter guidelines for your own family, reflects a harsher direction for the crown or even a loss of flexibility under your reign?
Diana: I would say discipline does not mean inflexibility. It means we take our responsibilities seriously. The monarchy must be a guiding light, not swayed by every changing wind.
Dawn: Understood. And on a personal level, how do you make sure your own convictions aren’t overshadowed by the many voices influencing and advising you? Critical or not?
Diana: I value counsel from many perspectives. My advisors, my family, the Lords and the Prime Minister. Each provide me with unique insight and valued perspectives which I take seriously. But ultimately, each decision is my own. It's my responsibility to lead SimDonia and I do so by ensuring I'm doing what's best for SimDonia. I remind myself daily that I was chosen to lead for a reason, and I must trust that instinct. No matter what others may say.
Dawn: Well said, Diana. You’ve certainly given us a clear sense of your vision. I’m sure everyone will appreciate hearing directly from you. It’s been a true honor speaking with you.
Diana: The honor is mine. Thank you for your time.
Dawn: Please give an applause for Her Majesty Queen Diana!
Assistant: Excellent job, Your Majesty.
Diana: Thank you. Please get a report on public response on my desk by the time we get back.
Assistant: Of course, Your Majesty.
Diana: And where is The King Brother? He should've been in the audience.
Assistant: I- I was told not to inform you.
Diana annoyed: Inform me? Not to inform me of what?
Assistant: Of your brother's location and condition.
Diana: Condition? Who gave you this directive?
Assistant: The Monarch Advisor, Ma'am. She said it would distract you from your current duties.
Diana angry: Where is my brother, Marsha?
Assistant: He's in the hospital, Ma'am. I don't have full details on his condition-
Diana: Brief me in the car. We're headed there now. Make the arrangements.
Diana: Don't ever hide anything like this from me again.
