MEET MY OC: Marley Friedman!

As Seen In: "Pinky Promises. simon kalivoda" by simonkalivodaloml (me) on Wattpad - dear GOD, if you have the urge to read this fanfic, please know that it's so so old and that my writing has improved insanely since then. pinky promises really does mean a lot to me, as it's the main focus for this oc and was the main focus of my life during, before, and after i was writing it, but the writing isn't amazing. there is a lot i would change and add to that story if i was rewriting it now. but, still! i'm not saying don't read it, because there are parts that i am proud of (especially the last chapter!), and you get the full context and content of marley friedman.

Visage

- Wavy mid-arm length brown hair, always worn with two black clips on either side.

- Thick eyebrows, often turned downward. A heart-shaped face, with harsh angles at certain moments. Downturned eyes, always adorned with smudgy black eyeliner. Nails usually painted black.

- Wears an assortment of flannels, tank tops, dark jeans, chokers, and sweaters. Two things she is always wearing are her converse shoes, and her signature dragonfly necklace; previously owned by her older sister, Darby Friedman, a victim of the Camp Nightwing Massacre.

Personality/Quirks

- Marley is snarky, but purehearted. She leans into rude comedy, sometimes unaware when she's actually hurt somebody's feelings.

- Swears in abundance, maybe too much.

- Total dork, especially when it comes to her friends and her interests.

- She loves to doodle, she'll doodle on anything and everything she can. You'll always see her with hearts and swirls and the like on her hands and up her arms.

- She's clumsy. She drops bowls of cereal on the regular, bumps into tables, trips over her own feet, anything you can think of. She's always covered in at least a couple bruises, scrapes, and cuts - so she always has band-aids in her pockets and backpack.

The Friedman Household

- Marley lives in a single-parent, low income household. She solely looks after her 15y/o brother, Jacob. Her father, who has been out of the picture for years, was abusive and damaged the family severely. Marley and Jacob's mother spends nearly all of her time at work, supporting the family and paying bills.

- Marley deals drugs with Kate Schmidt, her best friend. This is a way for Marley to gain independent income, and spend some money on things that aren't exactly on her mother's radar. Things like clothes, snacks, household repairs, and small outings or items for her and/or her brother.

- Marley is a cheerleader for Shadyside High School. She isn't exactly enthusiastic about cheer, but it's a way for her to spend more time with Kate, as well as a way to get out of the house.

- The Friedman household consists of a large amount of wood paneling, carpeting, and yellow lighting. The upper level is decorated drastically differently than the basement, due to the fact that Marley's room is the basement. (Pictures in the middle two rows below,) The basement is decorated with poster upon poster, as well as music, unique lighting, a couch, a television set, and more miscellaneous decorations and clutter.
