They are two different things and unfortuntely (judging by the posts I'm seeing) people don't differentiate between them. He's been one of my favourite directors since Three Kings (directors not people :P) and I love his movies. I agree that The Fighter is his best one so far but SLP is still an amazing human story for me and AH is just fun and I enjoyed it. But I totally understand that it's not everyone's cup of tea but that doesn't mean they should generalize and say that everyone thinks the movies are crap.
