idk man, i got a bug after reading the Veridia bacc @eulaliasims is doing so tbh this is not my fault. I mean not entirely.

I tried building in my medieval hood months ago and stopped like halfway through one of the lots because I was just fucking bored with it. It's nice to be building and enjoying it this way for once; being inspired like this is SO FUN. It's encouraged me to move away from the style I was using, with the crumbling walls and generally dilapidated look. Like yes, they can't read, but that doesn't mean they have to live in squalor.

idk anything about viking history really, the reference I used was this, and idk if it's accurate at all. I did look around for a bit, because i wanted to know how a viking longhouse interior might be arranged, but i took the reference point and ran with it. Like always.

Like I built one for my midwife last week, and have NO IDEA if I did this right. I love this one too though.

Interior has me in a bit of a chokehold tbh. Usually the houses I build for the midwife are two rooms. One room this time. I like it a lot better. Not ideal for a married woman with children, but I haven't gotten anywhere near there yet. I might not ever tbh

Either way, this is the sims, I'm not here for historical accuracy. Only chaos. The balcony with the roof on the first house was an ordeal, but I REALLY wanted a loft for it. Like just for giggles. I'm really pleased with it.

I need more interior decor. I deleted a lot of stuff. I'm still deleting stuff.

Anyway I always end up with riverfolk. I just like the idea of people living away from the majority of civilization because they just wanna be close to water for reasons they don't care to examine. I thought about like having one family produce salt while their neighbors handle the fish, but not sure if I want to split it like that. idk i'll decide later.

Also been playing Roadwarden and Pentiment (again), which has not helped.

Highly recommend Roadwarden btw

idk i built an apartment complex instead of going to bed like an adult. This is the view from the back. I kinda...idk why I have the apartments facing the street on the other side tbh, but I just went with it. I wanted the pool house next to the pool, but then ran out of room, so i combined it with the "front office" lol

anyway it's in del sol valley, so I built it to have a somewhat retro old hollywood feel to it. I wanted it to look a little outdated with pulp paraphernalia scattered about, and I think I did okay.

Me: Cool, done with this, so I guess I'll go to bed.

Also me: builds another apartment in Tomarang.

I give up. there's been a block in my head preventing me from building anything, and suddenly i'm cranking out huge ass lots. i don't know, but it's been very cathartic.

MCC PROGRESS

I haven't gotten this far in actual years, and am pretty pleased with this. I've wanted to try again for AGES and tbh the thing keeping me from even getting started has been the building.

Oh god, the building.

I still have a few more lots to build, then the families, then I can start ayyyy

Anyway, what i've done so far ~_~

AS USUAL i'm not following the rules exactly. I'm starting with one more peasant family than the rules call for, and I'm going to use a list of Medieval ROS to make it a little more interesting. I also have been watching a particular "slice of life" medieval documentary rather obsessively, so I'm considering doing a monastery peasant farm thing, but idk how i'd work that in.

I'm also not sure if i want a fantasy angle, but odds are good...fantasy angle. I've never been one for pure realism.

idk i've been playing fallout 76 again and have an itch. Most of my oasis springs builds are already like this purely for aesthetics, but someone is definitely going to live here. There is a house on the lot, so it's quite livable.

Not done, but i'm happy with it so far so yes. If i put a family here, this is 100% a space for the weird tenants they house from time to time. Or an ornery, over dramatic teenager.

i haven't played in a couple years, so everything feels new again. it's nice, but now everyone I meet is like level 873049862704 and i'm still just level 96. I joined up with a friend who has been playing pretty consistently since I stopped and she's level 538. I am very sad and weak.

summer sucked. lost some relatives and it hit harder than expected. I neglected my entire life and did almost nothing except play overwatch for about a month.

mmr is crazy now, my match ups are no longer fun. they feel like work lol

Gentry manor, which is like half done already. I lost steam in the middle of it and just...left it to go build everything else. Ill probably start the whole thing over.

Prison, because I've had sims commit adultery in the past and it made me so mad. There was also the violence issue (the teenage boy who kept showing up everywhere and making enemies with every teenage girl he met, including his own sister, and frequently getting his ass kicked), so...yeah.

For outcasts...idk yet. Leaning toward a traveling caravan like @mortia had in hers way back. i intend for two orphans with room for two more because one of the last times i did this, i had an entire family die of plague. the last surviving family member was an infant. highly entertaining at the time. I'll have three soldiers in the barracks. I think that's doable. i just don't want to manage too many of them.

Legitimately did not understand how everyone else's games are so peaceful and organized, and then i remember some people have religion, and others do storytelling. I don't know if everyone plans out the (highly addictive) stories in their BACCs, but if you do, bless you. I have the attention span of a toddler. ADHD etc

surprised that this held my attention for this long before something else distracts my absentminded ass.

I do have a specific thing planned out that i'm pretty excited about though.
