Portrait of artist Simeon Solomon (1840-1905) (here in Oriental costume) . Solomon, who came from an artistic family, was part of the British Pre-Rafaelites and made lots of gorgeous drawings and paintings that were collected by, among others, his contemporary Oscar Wilde. However, his rise to fame became impossible after being convicted twice for attempted sodomy.
