OKAY WELL. I think there is a very clear contender and it is the burning her parents to death. There is a reason this moment is one of the five most prominent pieces of her shattered soul.

this is maybe not what the question was angling towards but minerva is surrounded by people who are walking doormats and martyrs so she is very vocal about making sure her loved ones don't take on too much. if she sees jinal working herself into the ground, she will harass jinal into taking a break. if she sees kai trying to cook with a broken arm she will call in the cavalry (jinal). idt anyone else in the ennead except silpa is like... any good at asserting themselves. so minerva ends up doing this fairly often

them being the other eight immortals, of course. see, as karai's chosen avatar, jinal cannot die--but the other eight can die, technically speaking. they've just chosen not to. they promised to keep jinal company for as long as it takes. and jinal sees the joy in felix's eyes when he talks about his ice skating students, and she sees the excitement with which kai teaches physics, and she sees how silpa enjoys picking apart the latest gadgets and she knows that they have other reasons to live, but it still nags at her, this idea that she is subjecting them to eternal life against their will.

Both versions of Merry desire to know the cause of their brother’s death, the reason behind it, and want justice against the ones who are to blame. The only difference is that fallen london Merry has completed this desire.

Although… they want more than that. That was only one step. They want to see the masters of the bazaar finally let go of the people of London and to never take down another city into the Neath ever again.

Merry is still caught up in the death of their brother and it fuels much of their hatred for the authority that caused his death. For friendcorp au… I’m not exactly sure yet who is to blame and why, but I know one of the syndicates is at fault-

For the greatest failure… I’d have to say for fallen london Merry it was trusting a stranger too much. They became too desperate and easily trusting when they thought they finally had someone who cared about them. A dashing stranger who so romantically swept them off their feet and showered them in gifts.

Only to then show his true intentions of luring them into a false sense of trust just to steal their soul.

While they didn’t lose it to him, they still came away scarred after fighting with Charlie and with a new sense of distrust in the people around them and their intentions. They don’t speak of it often, so only their partner and people they trust would know.

As for friendcorp Merry? They get caught up in so many things they’ve done wrong. But mostly they worry over their failures at their old facility, especially getting banned from the abnormality that they had just wanted to study.

well here they are!!! :)

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

for bella: she's not drastically different around most people, but there are differences. around friends, she's just a lot more genuinely happy, and feels more confident to express her ideas/be herself. around family, she wishes it was that way, but there's distance between them. both with her parents and with owen. they're still friends and they confide in eachother, but its just.. a bit colder. more of a deep, like, Knowing connection. they were the only ones there for eachother in t589. as for strangers, she's her usual polite but withdrawn self. she usually acts this way. not saying everyones a stranger, its just like. she's usually working and she has a reputation and etc etc etc. she feels she has to be that way.

for gem: he tries to change how he acts at least slightly (at most majorly) to cater to those around him, but around general groups, he's pretty much the same. sleek and cool and mysteriousss (he's shallow <3). honestly, she probably doesn't really know how to act, so she treats everyone the same way. the differences tend to come out with specific people instead of groups (he treats yui and bella differently, though they're both his friends).

🌈 RAINBOW - what advice would they give to their younger self?

for bella: hm... telling her to stop mourning so heavily and to just accept death was intriguing, but i dont think bella could bring herself to do that (nor would she want to). she'd probably tell her that its all gonna be okay and that she'll make it :) and that there are more people who care for her than she knows

he doesn't have much a backstory yet, so fuck it we ball, he's from a k corp family (ive been interested in a k corp oc recently lol). he looks up to the future and prosthetics and everything k corp does, but sought the thrill of lobotomy corp. she also got a lot of prosthetics to further herself, which are probably k corp ones.

(👑) well that's gotta be spring no question! (EXTREMELY LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER AND THE LIE DETECTOR GIVES ME AN ELECTRIC SHOCK) okay. actual answer: considering the main real world ref for brasidas maybe they too have a winter that lasts all the way to march... and it'd bother them as a Concept, how it lasts so little and doesn't do nearly enough to change the place. u want it to make the whole place green and warm but it doesn't. symbolically: it was kalan's season and they're trying So Hard to be that kinda person who is unbothered and joyful but they just aren't. NOWWW in season terms. and in eladrin terms. summer is about Action and strong emotions that are sometimes Bad AND it's about the sun being annoying as fuck. and mimi's at a summer point in his life. burning light reflecting off the water and limeade that needs more sugar 🍋 and. he'll learn to like spring again probably. in the eladrin sense of letting themselves be happy bc they feel like it and not because It's The Way I Should Be and also in the literal sense of: they need to go to a big flower field in the middle of spring and see the snow thaw and see that maybe SOMEONE was right and even their home can bloom in its own way and there is something good and worth saving in it. look at it all with brand new eyes. then it'll be spring.

(🍊) oughhh my boy... having barely really met anyone with even a drop of elven blood i def think marcus doesn't really have the... cultural baggage? about seasons that tiare has, which is a little bad and a little good. as we have previously established: he's mostly been autumn all his life literally because he's Like That and hasn't really… been feeling things that deeply, in a sense. not to be always quoting that ask polly post but yk "it's the strongest emotion you've ever felt and you've convinced yourself it's your destiny". actually another: the fucking conan gray song that goes "u don't have to act like all you feel is mild (...) u don't really like the sun it drives u wild" something like that going on. been too long by himself and it's like he's forgotten that he too is... just some guy and can feel angry or attached to someone just like anyone else and there's nothing wrong with it. so that is marcus' lack of eladrin baggage 🧍‍♂️ but similarly to mithra! i think rn he likes spring a lot, all the bright colors that feel so different from him, but he'll probably grow to like autumn as a Thing later on. spring being a symbol of rebirth but autumn too as a sign of a slower change, and a time to value your memories rather than just looking for something different. the backyard covered in brown and orange leaves and his mother's hands red with pomegranate seeds.

(🏞) ROVIIIII ok actually. despite having drawn em wintery to signify that in current times they're not doing well. they actually like winter a lot! they aren't winter a lot because they're just. not pensive and reflective enough, or haven't been most of their lifeSARFDTGHDSF genuinely don't think she has much baggage about it (i'm NOT lying, unlike for the marcus answer) which i guess is the positive point of having grown up in the feywild! they've always been used to change, it doesn't seem to bother them. anyway. i think the season roviere's most aligned with (and probably my favorite color palette for them also DCGHJD) is spring for sunlight til late in the evening and good winds perfect for seafaring. ideal conditions. but if you asked them: summer because they think they're hottest as a blonde. fall is probably nonio's favorite because the red to blue gradient is pretty and to him it means they're not Hyper Spring Mode so maybe they could sit down to relax together. so rovi likes it too by proxy.

god. we've actually already had some silly moments of "hey you're nice why do you just hang around your brother when he's like that." which... is something without an answer to. they're basically the only thing in each other's worlds. of course she's sticking to him no matter what. i already know there's going to be a big disagreement if they ever end up meeting their father whom they have different levels of attachment to 💀... there's also the question of religion- i already discussed with dm that they won't really be happy if fane keeps following this revenge quest she and her brother have going on... this is definitely sustainable and will not end up with them both cracking under the slightest pressure. tunes for this topic

(DEMURELY LOOKS AWAY AS TO NOT SHOW THE AUDIENCE THAT THERE'S ANYTHING STRANGE TO US ABOUT WATERMELONS) (DISCRETE COUGH) um anyway... feel like there's a lot of "simply wouldn't mention unless Asked because he's Shy" more than biiiig secrets he is just Reserved. but i think when we go back to his plane. on one hand he'll say it feels very weird to have so many people recognize him, especially given it'll be older people who recognize their still young unchanged friend. on the other i think it'll feel good to know there's people who've remembered him all through the years.

i feel like if he'd had a fun little prophecy biomom might've kept him just to see what would happen LOLLLL but he's remarkably Some Guy so far. i do think the tempest boys in general could make for a good prophecy. those four who separated by space may cross time to fight together... or something. "the unaging warrior of elven blood" is a very prophecy vibe he's got going on. the sunken reach-- his plane of origin-- hasn't been doing too well lately. maybe they might even see his return, together with the boys, as a good sign to help them against the coming winter...

Flamethrower - Cyndaquil and Torchic!! They are just small little guys... I love them so much. Alolan Marowak is also a big fave of mine.

Earthquake - Does the Gible, Gabite, Garchomp line count bc its absolutely them. My favorite pokemon of all time! I have a binder of Pokemon cards that's just them.

But there's so many more notable ones too! Gliscor and Swampert are close seconds, the Trapinch line are truly iconic, GROUDON, Torterra, the Sandile line, Sandygast, Runerigus... Gen 1 hits like Cubone, Sandshrew, Nido's King and Queen. It's all bangers.
