12. Your character has the opportunity to have one wish granted. Would the wish only benefit them, someone else (one person or multiple), or everyone? And what would that wish be?

For Simon, this depends on what point of the story this question is asked. In the beginning, he would absolutely just wish for something to benefit himself (would probably wish to be healthy again), but later on, as he matures, I could see him making the wish for H, or to benefit other sick individuals like him.

For H, I wouldn’t say she’s a selfish person, but she’s very goal-oriented and practical, so I can see her making a very strategic wish that would help her dig herself out of financial dearth and put her through medical school.

23. Does your character know any languages apart from their native language? What one would they like to learn?

Simon knows snatches of other languages that he’s taught himself over the years, but he’s essentially monolingual. I think he’d really like to learn Gaelic, since his roots lie in Ireland.

H is bilingual: she speaks both English and her family’s native Punjabi fluently, and can speak snatches of Mandarin, as well.

43. What are they like when they’re drunk? Don’t be a prude and tell me they’ve never been smashed before.

Simon is essentially his own personality except intensified: very loud, very emotional, impulsive, no coordination, somewhat horny. Turns into a large six-year-old: constantly wants food and hates wearing pants.

The only time H doesn’t seem to have a stick up her ass is when she’s drunk tbh: she loosens up, tells a lot of dirty jokes and actually giggles and laughs a lot. However, she’s also even more brutally honest than ever.

67. What was the most acidic remark your character’s ever given to someone? And their reaction?

Simon regularly calls H a dull, boring prude (which is something she’s heard before), though isn’t exactly king of clever insults mostly because he’s afraid of her.

H is a very blunt individual, so she’s almost always calling Simon an selfish twat or an overdramatic idiot; he knows these are true statements so he simply accepts them and embraces them.

79. Which one do they prefer; knowing when they die or how they die?

Simon has always known how he will die, seeing as he’s been terminally ill with cystic fibrosis his whole life, so I think he’d be comforted to know ‘when’, as he’s grown tired of doctors telling him he’s going to die when he doesn’t.

I can’t see H wanting to know either tbh; she prefers to keep everything like that out of mind and out of sight and worry about more important things at hand.
