Would your daughter's husband's brother still be your son in law?
I'm trying to see what Simon is to Aryana.
Lucian: I challenge you to a game of Galleons and Gods.
Simon: You are aware that I'm a grandson of that game's inventor, are you not?
Lucian: I'm a prince. We both know nepotism is a pointless metric.
Simon: Says the man who inherited his magical abilities from his parents.
Holy shit, it's Yaoi Day
If I were more capable of coming up with stuff quickly, I would write a fluff piece for Simon and Lucian. (I don't do smut, but power to you if you do)
Here's something small I guess
Sorry if it's cringe, I have low experience writing romance, despite having many OCs who are in relationships with other OCs.
Simon sighed as he stared at the flower. An Aurora Daisy. Simon thought. He knows me so well. It wasn't just that Lucian knew Simon's favorite flower, or where to find one, or even the fact that he went all the way to Terra Nova to pick one up, but the fact that this man, this busy prince, with a list of royal duties longer than the Starbourne Prophecy, found the time out of his day to do all that.
"How did you know, Luce?" Simon asked.
"I didn't become an archmage by NOT studying magical items." Lucian pointed out.
"Not the flower," Simon mentioned, "how did you know to give it to me today of all days? It's not my birthday, nor is it our anniversary, and I never told you about---" Simon realized before he could finish his sentence. "You didn't. You wouldn't."
"I would, and I did." Lucian replied. "I know you told me not to peep into your dreams, but I felt I had no choice. You were looking at the calendar and muttering the number of days remaining until today, so I decided to see what it was about."
"I know we sealed him away, but what's gonna happen when he comes back?" Simon asked.
"That won't happen for at least a couple centuries," Lucian mentioned, "your reincarnation and their friends will deal with it."
"That still means it's my problem." Simon mentioned.
"Simon, my love, Teneber is restrained for now, and will be for the next two hundred years. Can't we just think about the present?" Lucian asked, caressing Simon's cheek. "We sealed up the Dark Star and the demons have a new, more benevolent ruler. We should be celebrating!"
"I know, it's just that it's been eleven years since I last saw her." Simon mentioned, tears in his eyes. "Eleven years since Teneber consumed my mother's mass. Avenging her doesn't bring her back!" Simon started punching the air and accidentally hit Lucian.
"Let it all out, my love." Lucian told Simon. "And when you're done flailing about, have a Star Cake."
Simon's expression shifted at the sound of his favorite pastry. He stopped randomly punching. "What have I done to deserve your love?" Simon asked.
"More deeds than I can name, my love." Lucian replied, leaning in for a kiss.
Simon leant in too, and the two of them didn't think about anything else.
"Now about that Star Cake..." Simon inquired almost immediately after releasing his lips from Lucian's.
"Of course, my love." Lucian procured the pastry from his pocket.
Simon bit into it. It tasted of strawberry sponge, vanilla frosting, and a dash of pocket lint. Despite the lint, Simon finished the Star Cake with gusto. He smiled for the first time that month. Life was good. Simon thought about what his future life would be like. He hoped he would find love like this in every life.
I have to rename the Lumon ship.
It has come to my attention that Lumon is the name of an evil corporation in a show I haven't seen. However, it is also the name for the ship between Lucian and Simon in my story series, Starbourne. I need a better name for the ship, something that isn't used for an evil organization.
Any ideas? Tagging Lumon in hopes that people who haven't heard of Starbourne but have watched Severance can give me ideas for names that AREN'T in Severance. (Or just, y'know, more people in general. Maybe Severance fans will like Starbourne despite the two not being at all related)
I'm starting to write short stories for Starbourne
These will be little snippets of what might happen in the books, whenever I get the ideas for them.
Celeste gives Simon a test of his abilities, both physical and magical. But it is not the kind of test he was expecting.
Saying Sans Undertale is Ness Earthbound because Toby Fox played Earthbound as a kid is like saying Simon Devlyn is Mario Mario because I played Paper Mario as a kid.
I haven't been getting enough questions about my OCs, so I think I need to post more about them.
Simon Devlyn is the self insert protagonist. Main differences between him and me are that he's polyamorous, a space captain, and in a relationship with a prince and a princess. (Possibly married to them depending on when in the timeline you're following him as well as which timeline)
Theodore Devlyn is Simon's brother, and he's based on some of the nicest aspects of my brothers IRL. I made him one character instead of two despite having two brothers (well three now but two when I had the idea for Starbourne) because I couldn't figure out enough traits for three Devlyn brothers at the time. He's a theatre nerd/wannabe actor/playwright.
Lana Fei is the Princess of Feria, not really based on any one person, but a bunch of people I was friends with back in my brony days. Lana is even named after someone I used to have a crush on from that time, but not based on her alone. She's a descendant of the first Queen of Feria, Aurora.
Eveline Delebleux was actually my very first OC for Starbourne, created before the protagonist to be a love interest for my actual self. I grew out of her when I found real love, and now she's just a character. She's based on some of my earliest crushes, but named (or at least first named) after someone's Warrior Cats OC. (A kittypet, obviously, based on the name) I forgot who made THAT Eveline, but I thought the name was beautiful so I stole it. I decided to make her also a Princess, (specifically of Stellaria) and a reincarnation of Aurora, giving her and Lana some connection before they met.
Lucian Starling was originally created as a love rival for Simon then I discovered bisexuality and polyamory and now the three of them are together in my mind. (Not in the books yet and sorry for the spoilers if you were only going by the books) He is the Prince of Luderia, kingdom of Dreams, and as such his duty is to protect the Dreamscape from invasive forces.
Emberly Florence is the demon Princess, daughter of Demon Lord Teneber, the main villain of Starbourne. She rebels against her father and her twin sister Ashly when she realizes that Teneber's rule is unfavorable even for demonkind. Realizing you're in an abusive relationship (be it romantic or familial) is the first step towards getting out of it, and that's what I wanted to show with Emberly. With a little help from the Felicity Crew, Emberly learns to become a better and happier person.
Obviously I have more details about each character in my head, but I didn't want to say too much in one post. Feel free to AMA about my OCs.
My OC is literally just me with a boyfriend and a girlfriend because I had neither when I came up with him. I'm not even polyamorous IRL but it fits the character well.
