You and Simon were sitting on his couch, playing video games as you two usually do on a Sunday night. A tradition of some sort ever since middle school.

You got horrifically defeated by Simon, and you walked to his kitchen as he yelled in triumph. He was an idiot. But still, a victorious idiot. An idiot you were in love with ever since freshman year of high school.

You yawned, grabbing a bag of microwave popcorn and placing it inside the microwave. You watched it revolve inside a metal heating machine for two full minutes before finally devouring it while watching Bram Stoker's Dracula.

"Hey, sharing is caring."

"I will not hesitate to punch you if you take any."

When you went to the bathroom, he definitely took his chance and stole some popcorn.

An hour into the movie, you two were asleep on his couch. It was probably around eleven thirty, and you decided to go home. You crawled out of Simon's arms, and he stirred. He wasn't a very heavy sleeper, it turns out.

"I can walk you home," he rubs his eyes.

You stared like an idiot. Take him up on this offer or let him sleep? "No, it's fine."

"It's late."

You almost gave in to his persistence, but he looked so tired you couldn't. "Just sleep, you big baby."

He grumbled, and that was your cue to leave.

You walked home, wondering if you'd do homework or copy Kate's if she'd let you, or if you'd even do it. You ultimately decided to half-ass everything and hope for the best. You walked slightly faster, your backpack bouncing from your back, just in case your parents were home.

There were no lights on inside your house. You sighed out of relief.

You opened the front door, heading straight to your room to plop your backpack next to your bed. You were ready to sleep when the phone rang.

"Who the hell is calling me?" You mumbled. You grabbed the phone and untangled the cord. "Hello?"

"It's Simon."

You loosened up. "Simon, why are you calling me?"

"Uh..." An awkward pause. "Nevermind."

He hung up. Out of concern and curiosity, you dialed his number and called him. "Hey, Si? You okay?"

"Promise you won't laugh?"

"Depends on what it is."

"Okay, fine," he hesitates. "I like you. Like, like-like you. I really like you. I'm messing this up. Please say something."

You laugh.

"You promised you wouldn't laugh!" You could practically see the embarrassment on his red face.

"I didn't mean to, it's just," you continued, "why would you of all people like me? Why would anyone?"

"Well, because you're funny. And smart. And pretty. And, maybe, my future lover?"

"You're a dork," you laugh again. "But I guess so."

"Do you, y/n, take my hand in everlasting love?"

You played along. "I do." You said, "You're such a dork" again.

"I know. But that's why you like me."
