Mystery of Brittany Murphy’s husband, who died just months after her

On a Sunday morning in December 2009, Brittany Murphy suddenly collapsed in the bathroom of the West Hollywood home she shared with her husband, Simon Monjack.

May 23, 2010 MONJACK Simon Mark Monjack was an English screenwriter, film director, film producer, make-up artist and the husband of American actress Brittany Murphy. He was found dead on 23 May 2010 in his house in Hollywood. Law enforcement sources say the Los Angeles Fire Department was called there for a medical emergency after Murphy's mother found him unconscious. The coroner's report found the cause of his death to be acute pneumonia and severe anemia - similar to the causes attributed to his wife's death 5 months earlier in the same house. Monjack was buried next to his wife at Forest Lawn cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.
