New AU Info Dump Time!!

Still a wip AU, but I finished chapter one! hehe

An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works

This is called the Revived Forms AU!

So the main character's are Simon and Caz, the perspective will swap between them(written in 2nd person though), only 1 perspective each chapter though, it's rated Mature for violence and gore descriptions, nothing else.

This AU mostly takes place on a Cadal Support Ship that is illegally using Cadal resources to treat the Baira D. survivors and infected without Cadal's knowledge, Simon Stewart is a surgeon who works on the Harvey Support Ship due to injuries being very common in Cadal, Simon has connections with Trots who works on the Baira D. so he got extremely worried when he heard the Baira was off radio for hours, so he convinces a helicopter pilot, who works as an engineer on the Harvey Support Ship, to go check on the Baira, when the pilot returns frantically with a grainy photo of the rig, Simon panicked and begged the captain to go to the rig.

Once at the rig, they recovered survivors and infected, Simon and his co-worker Margaret "Maggie" Aldridge, a doctor and scientist, became responsible for the treatment of the injured and infected, and Margaret eventually made a drug, called Memoria Carnis, which stops the mutating of infected persons bodies and clears their mind and lets them have their own mind and body under their control again.

I made a google drive to store a bunch of art and info for the AU and chars :D

Opposite Morals Meeting!

Since my AU Revived Forms was inspired by the Restoration AU by @i-can-fix-them(love your au btw-), I decided to draw Xanthe and Simon meeting since they both are working to cure/fix the infected! So... Restoration AU fanart!!

I feel like Xanthe would hate Simon if he found out that Simon was closer to finding a cure(canon in RF AU) using moral methods to make the Memoria Carnis medication than Xanthe is with his methods- lol

Then again the evolution of The Shape also probably works a bit differently from each others worlds.

Xanthes hair was a pain to draw, but its very pretty 🐿

Xanthe likely has a LOT more experience and education than Simon does, so Simon wasnt able to fix all infected to the same degree as Xanthe could, especially since Simon wasnt willing to cause more pain or do anything immoral, but Simons co-worker Margaret(who isnt drawn here) would probably admire Xanthe's methods, she doesn't really care for morals, but Simon is too important to her so she wont do anything without his approval.

New SWTD cure AU when?

Here's some of my WIP designs/ideas for my AU inspired heavily by @i-can-fix-them's AU(I got their permission :D)! Im gonna design, Caz, Gibbo and Addair tomorrow- I gotta stop drawing, its almost 3AM ;v;

I tried to make all my designs unique and fitting to the mutations they have! And i plan to write their story too! Their designs may become more human as the story progresses.

Most of their outfits arent canon, Idk how to dress them so its mostly pieces that convience their traits-

TW for Body Horror, gore and descriptions of surgical procedures, everything is drawn on paper with no colour though.

O'Connor

(I keep accidentally spelling his name with an e ;v;)

I saw that O'Connor's spine was like, extended out and/or connected to The Shape, so i decided they removed him from the wall by cutting around the spine, which became a sort of "scorpion tail" just... yknow, connected to his upper spine instead! the spine tail thing doesn't have muscle, instead it moves with a long powerful tentacle attached inside the spine which can extend out or hide inside fully.

O'Connor also as a hole in his stomach which usually sits shut but is drawn open, where tentacles stay tucked inside and ready to strike like they did to Caz in-game, they tried and failed to stitch this shut many times! He has surgical scars where other parts of The Shape had him attached to the wall.

Roper

When Roper was extracted another person had been fused into his back, that person was deceased, and Roper, thanks to the shape, now had control over their limbs, he had their leg, which was attached to his hip, surgically removed alongside their head on his back shoulder, he has a ton of growths and pieces that couldnt be removed due to his spine being fucked up, meaning the growths was holding his spine in one piece and contained many on his nerves, although he's pretty lucky compared to some infected.

Due to having been attached to another person, that persons memories and thoughts linger in the back of his head and behave outwardly identically to tourettes(this idea totally isnt inspired by my own tourettes-) where sometimes the other conscious with cause sudden speech and or movements. The arms belonging to the other person often stiffen and get sore randomly.

Muir

I may have overthought Muir, but was the hardest to cure i imagine, mainly due to his bones being mutated more than any other infected, so he had the bones carved as they removed more and more excess flesh and then they discovered the bones now have quicks, like animal nails, so they couldnt cut smaller.

Muir has a lot of surgical scars and a bit of excess flesh left, but functionality is priority right now, he has a "tail" which holds some of his essential organs so it wasnt able to be removed due to growths inside his body leaving no room, he can still summon tentacles and his big tentacle spider legs from his back, his mouth is wired shut since his jaw and teeth are all fucked up

Innes takes care of Muir for the most part, his skull was extremely mutated, with holes and stuff all over, so they couldn't remove every extra piece, even leaving one of his extra eyes since the eye was too close to his other eye to be safe to remove without risk of blinding both eyes. Muir's main eyes are off center and one is smaller and lower, the other larger and higher, his eyes are a bit foggy and he isnt the best in sight, but his hearing is extremely good, he usually wears silencing earphones like those you use to protect your ears from explosions or loud gunshots, his ear byvhis extra eyes is like that of a lizard and more sensitivethan his other ear.

Arms and hands are stuck how they are until they can find a way to fix them, one arm is more functional due to clearer digits, the other less so.

Raffs

This design made me suffer but i was determined... in fact i began drawing Brodie first, knowing I wanted him to be the supportive father figure in Raffs life!

So... Raffs is practically entirely fucked up, bones obliterated due to being confined and slamming himself around so much so hard, he ended up losing one of his legs due to it melting into an incoherent mass of flesh without the bones for structure, his body is squishy like a squid and can be condensed like one. Raffs has breathing issues due to the surgery on his neck and the mutation having caused damage to his trachea, some of his limbs are extremely sensitive, others are completely numb, he cant wear a shoe on his foot anymore cause they're sensitive and he doesn't feel comfortable within the confinement, one of his hands is entirely red abd bruised looking permanently, he has a prosthetic leg now.

When he gets too scared or agitated his tentacles will shoot out whether he likes it or not, Brodue is Raff's caretaker and he treats him as a son, Raffs also has a ton of excess flesh that cant be removed, his essential organs all messed up from the diving bell.

Trots and Simon

Simon is the man putting the crew back together! He isn't a bad man really... only breaking a few laws by doing unauthorized surgeries and experiments on people who are believed to be dead while using Cadal Oil Ltd. resources and money without their knowledge... its finnnne! He's an undiagnosed autistic man! Homosexual. A surgeon who studied way too many biology topics.

Trots was, despite how it looked, the hardest one for Simon to treat, almost none of his organs are in the right place so he cant just chop off the bottom half of him, and that'd also chop his legs off by doing that, so instead, he moved around Trots' extra limbs so he can use them to crawl around with ease, Trots isnt very happy about being turned into a caterpillar, his own words not mine, but at least Simon could put his ribs back!

Rennick

Not many ideas for Rennick- ;v;

Just like Muir, his arms are stuck how they are, I imagine they were similar in difficulty and process, Rennick just easier since his bones hadn't expanded as much, his legs are extremely swelled up and are treated with annual surgeries to slowly remove more excess, for now though, he's wheelchair bound, his glasses prescription was updated. His head was shrunk with a mix of a multi-day long ice bath and surgeries to shrink his head which was mostly swollen tissue. No im not aiming for realistic with Rennick-

Ill probably adjust his design later.
