Recommended to all lovers of Arthurian literature. Armitage, with Frederick Rebsamen, is the best poet-translator of Medieval poems that we have today. He really is. The Alliterative Morte Arthur is an overlooked masterpiece and, I dare say, makes all that Roman stuff in the Arthur legend interesting. Sneak peek! Hansel & Gretel A detail from Clive Hicks-Jenkins’ work on litho film for Simon Armitage’s new narrative poem, Hansel & Gretel, to be published by yours truly next Spring. Clive’s worked on using colour separations allowing these to be layered up so the end result will be as close to a screenprinted book as we can get, on beautiful uncoated paper, and with a screenprint from The Penfold Press in the Special Edition.
