Whole Roasted Chicken
Want to impress someone special with your culinary genius, without exerting too much effort? Roast a whole chicken! It’s easier than you might think!
Ingredients:
1 Whole Chicken
1 Lemon
3 Tbsp Salt
Bouquet:
½ bunch Thyme
½ bunch Rosemary
1 - 2 Tsp Olive Oil
Method:
Set Oven to 450 degrees fahrenheit (minimum) - 500 degrees fahrenheit
Clean Chicken in a vinegar - water solution (1 - 2, Vinegar to water ratio), or soak in water with 2 wedges of lemon.
Pat chicken dry and rub with with olive oil,
Season all over with Salt, including inside. Be generous.
Stuff the chest cavity with Bouquet (tied together with twine)
Stuff the chest cavity with a lemon wedge.
Place chicken in oven in a cast iron skillet, or open crock pot for 30 - 45 minutes, or till skin gets crispy and brown.
Turn off heat immediately, and leave in oven for 30 more minutes.
To check the cook of the chicken, cut into it’s meatiest parts - thigh or breast.
If fluids are running clear, and the poultry is white, or soft pink, it is ready.
If meat sticks to the blade, it is raw, let sit in heat 10 - 15 more.
