I am just learning about the Tarot in general for the first time now. I have never even had my cards read. I ordered Jessa Crispin's new book "The Creative Tarot". Finding an article on this book is actually what pushed me over the edge from background curiosity into forefront thirst (for knowledge, expansion of self) to take the dive. I ordered it and the centennial Smith-Waite deck (keeping it simple for learning purposes with my first deck- I have a couple decks I really want to get next by artists whose work I really love) last week and was able to bring and read while ob my camping trip. I love love LOVE Crispin's book, she makes learning straightforward whilst still invigorating for artists and creators of all sorts :) I also really like Mary K. Greer's Tarot blog. This particular entry is good for me as I am just beginning to practice first readings for myself as I continue to read each breakdown about each individual card in my book. Mostly I want to focus on the advice Crispin's book and most sites have most commonly offered to beginners, which is to pull one card daily. And to otherwise keep it simple. So if I want to try a spread, these suggestions look perfect for me. With my own knowledge of my personality and concentration patterns, I must keep it simple or risk over-complicating and spinning wayyy off-course. Anyway...
