As most of you know who follow me for a longer time, I love the color white: white gardens, white interiors, white flowers, white clothes, white pearls, white horses... So, of course, these three amaryllis stems with multiple flowers blooming on each of them, made me very happy. These three came as pre-forced bulbs potted up in containers into my house. At a certain point the flowers became so top heavy that almost simultaneously all three stems snapped off at the base of the bulb. Has that ever happened to you as well? Anyway, what first looked like a disaster became a blessing. Sadly, I haven’t been able to buy amaryllis as cut flowers at my usual flower sources, but I realized that I could continue to use these snapped off stems as cut flowers. I think, they are absolutely gorgeous! Can some of you also not get enough of the color white? Lately, I wasn’t too lucky with cut flowers. The daffodils I bought never opened and the second time they dried up after just one day. Has that ever happened to you? But these scabiosas are just fantastic. I have never seen this variety before but find the coloration, simplicity, and airiness of the blooms so beautiful. They could be wildflowers, just picked from the field and would be perfect growing in a cottage garden. And the best is, they lasted already over a week and are still gracing our living room with their beauty. Wishing you all a lovely weekend whatever you do. Me?
