The little action that did happen in the discord, forgive me, seemed to be mostly the moderators scolding people for posting in the wrong threads. I understand that the threads/topics need to stay on track, but people were being chastised for asking a fic question in the questions thread and not the writing thread. This is another issue that chased people out early on. Perhaps the moderators could do more to promote the OPBB on other sites? Or at least read the participants fics after posting...
We're sorry you feel this way, our goal is not to scold participants and we're sorry if it seemed that way. It's out job as moderators to direct server members to the correct channels, when the provided FAQ and server info isn't read ahead of time.
We are working on expanding the event to other sites, but it is a slow process to learn how best to support the event on those sites without linking it entirely back to this blog!
We highly encourage our participants to read each other's work and leave feedback so we can all lead by example when it comes to appreciating the hard work everyone did. However, we kindly ask that everyone remembers that the mods are readers with their own preferences and squicks or triggers as well, and we therefore do not read every entry. As we asked during the event, please be respectful of everyone's preferences or potential triggers because our goal is to make sure everyone is comfortable.
