Hey guys, just saw this on twt in passing — I haven‘t updated my game yet (never do until like. a week or more later lmao) but here‘s some info on what‘s apparently broken so far!!

It's Patch Day!

It's Patch Day! Since this is a pre-expansion pack patch, it's expected to be a big one. So, in case this is your first major patch as a mod-user, or even just as a reminder to veterans:

🔴If you want to continue playing with your mods without dealing with the new patch, now is the time to change your EA app settings to disable automatic updates and play in Offline Mode. You can update your game later by turning on Online Mode, once more mods have been updated and are ready to go. *NOTE: I've heard reports that this didn't work well for some people last time so please be aware of that.

🟠This is also a great time to back up your saves and tray files and REMOVE YOUR MODS FOLDER. Assume that the entire folder is broken until further notice. To back up your saves, I suggest copying the folder to the desktop, another folder or an external USB drive.

🟡If you do update straight away, PLEASE play a mod-free save! I can't stress this enough so you don't go breaking your existing saves by removing mods.

🟢I'll be taking a look at my mods tonight and should, hopefully, be able to provide a rough outline of the damage, if any, within a couple of hours of the patch dropping.

🔵Several of my mods (Hopes & Fears and the Hobby Mod) will be receiving updates after Adventure Awaits releases on 2nd October.

🟣Remember; this is a pre-EP patch so it's very likely that many mods are broken. To make everything easier for yourselves and the modders, please remove your whole mods folder and only add back mods once they've been updated or cleared by their creators (not just because someone you know said they're fine). Some mods may not be updated by their creators until after the expansion releases, so please bear that in mind.

🟤It's also worth mentioning that, as the patch was brought forward by a week, some modders might not be able to update so quickly. This should go without saying but please don't harass modders at this time! We'll all update as soon as we can but we're human beings too.

Broken & Outdated Mods with the latest patch

Here's a list I've compiled on my day off, so you don't have to! This is a mixture of mods and cc I've found, amongst suggestions from other creators. This also includes my own trait mods.

DO NOT bug, harass or be nasty to creators about these issues. The best way is to follow your favourite creators on Patreon and watch for any updates that they post. Making some of my own cc and mods, this stuff is hard and takes time. Please be patient and kind.

Sims 4 Patch Day Strikes Again

According to their response on the official forum, EA has identified the issue and are working on fixing it. Which is great but, do they even TEST their own updates before fucking things up for their customers!? So fukkin unprofessional.

Anyone else's game not even loading right now after the last update?

I've been stuck on the loading screen for 20 minutes. The game launches and I can open worlds, but I can't load any of my households. It's either stuck on the loading screen or it will just flip back to the world selection :(

Apparently, it’s patch day. As always, remove your mods before patching and playing. If you want to know which mods need updating for the patch, you can follow this thread. There’s another site that tracks mods that I don’t have the link for right this second, but that thread is usually very up to date.

If you want to play but aren’t ready to update, go into origin and go offline (DON’T sign out, just go offline). You won’t be able to access the gallery when you’re offline but you can reconnect while in game without having to patch.

Right now the usual suspects are broken. Clean UI, More columns in CAS and UI Cheats Extension.

finally some new base game hair swatches after 7 gd years of having 18 swatches but maybe 14 of them useable. WOW.

SimGuruFrost has confirmed that the October 3rd PC/Mac game patch for The Sims 4 will bring two new Halloween costumes for male and female Sims.
