🛠️ Sims 4 Patch Update: Career Tone Tweaks

Hi everyone! Hope your New Year is going well so far? The latest Sims 4 patch has just dropped (the Coach update), and EA made some backend changes to how Away Actions at work and school function. These changes affected CareerTones, which meant Sims could stop gaining Needs properly while away.

Good news: for my mods, this was a very minor update.

✅ I’ve updated the CareerTones for a small number of careers where this applied. ✅ Any careers not listed do not require an update—they were unaffected by this patch.

Broken & Outdated Mods with the latest patch

Here's a list I've compiled on my day off, so you don't have to! This is a mixture of mods and cc I've found, amongst suggestions from other creators. This also includes my own trait mods.

DO NOT bug, harass or be nasty to creators about these issues. The best way is to follow your favourite creators on Patreon and watch for any updates that they post. Making some of my own cc and mods, this stuff is hard and takes time. Please be patient and kind.

how i have been updating eye cc

in warehouse, i set the AgeGender's value to "000030FE" for one swatch. then, on the same swatch in studio, i apply to all swatches. boom! works for all ages, including infants!

Preparing for the Sims 4 Infants Patch

The Infants/Growing Together patch on Tuesday, March 14, will break a lot of mods and custom content. Some of what Tuesday's patch will break:

door, gate, baby, and bassinet CC

custom traits, aspirations, and preferences (likes/dislikes)

mods that change CAS-mode UI

mods that add to Live-mode Sim pie-menu subcategories, such as new or moved "Friendly" or "Mean" interactions (because this patch reorganizes the pie menu)

I'll have a new Broken Mods thread up Tuesday and will post a link to it here.

To prepare for the patch, back up your saves! (This is a good thing to do now and then anyway.) If you'd rather play your current save while you wait for creators to clear and update content, you can turn off automatic updates in the EA app and in Origin. If you're having issues with the EA app, Crinrict has posted FAQs about the EA app and about Sims 4 in the EA app.

It's patch day folks!

Since this is a big pre-expansion pack patch it's important to take out mods and make backups of saves and trayfiles before updating. And the big mods like UI cheats and other script mods almost always needs an update so please be careful before launching your favorite saves with mods.

I find that it's almost better to take a few days and play something else if I feel like I can't live without my favorite mods. Let the modders breathe and don't pester them for updates within hours of the patch, alright?

Also, now we cross all the fingers that they haven't broken something completely beyond repair with this patch since it's coming out earlier originally planned. 🤞🤞
