Trying out some custom build items from @soloriya to make a little sewing room corner for my tailors, Bree and Zee! (It occurs to me I may not have posted anything about adding Lenneth’s sister Briella, her husband Zilin, and their son Lainion, to Simlatl yet? I should get some pictures and do that...anyway! Lenni’s little sister is in the game! And I found a tailoring career from @midnitetech for them, so now they’ve got a little space at the top of the stairs in case they need to bring work home. :-D (Sewing machine’s non-functional, but everything in this set is so, so cute, I want one in real life...)

We're not in Lydreith Anymore, Esryn...

The once peaceful forest of Lydreith was now filled with the cacophony of screaming and a suffocating blanket of smoke. Forun’s forces had finally broken down Lydreith’s defenses and now chaos ensued. Esryn cautiously peered out from behind a tree, heart pulsing rapidly against her ribcage. Her beautiful village was on fire and her kin scattered.

Someone grabbed the fabric of her cloak and tugged her to the ground. She whipped around, small dagger flashing, ready to attack. Terin grabbed her wrist before Esryn could stab him with it.

“Terin, goddess bless, you are alright!” Esryn whispered and sheathed her dagger, hugging him. He returned it, but only for a brief moment.

“It is not safe here, my moon, we must flee,” Terin’s gloved hand lingered on her ash-stained cheek. “Shala is opening a portal to the southeast and she said she does not guarantee it to be open long.”

Esryn answered, “There are soldiers all over, we should remain here.”

“No, the fires will consume us if we stay any longer,” Terin bit his dark lips, glancing around anxiously. The amber flames reflected in both the elves’ frantic eyes. “Stick to the trees.”

She followed his lead, hand clasped in his. They traversed tree-to-tree, watching warily as the flames flicked around their feet. Suddenly, Teris let out a cry and tumbled. He was barely able to catch himself on a large rock.

“Teris!” Esryn stared in horror at the arrow protruding from Terin’s calf. Letting out a half groan-half scream, he grabbed her and pulled her behind the rock.

“Pull it out!” He demanded, sweat dripping down his face.

“That’s foolish! You will bleed out!”

“No, I will not,” he peered around the rock, trying to figure out where the arrow came from. “Esryn, pull it out.”

She obliged, cringing as she curled her skeletal fingers around the shaft and pulled. It came loose with a sickening tear, prompting Teris to choke down a scream. Esryn reached down and tore a strip of her cloak, wrapping it tightly around his leg. “Are you alright?”

“We need to move, Esryn, stop worrying,” Terin grabbed her hand and they continued southeast, running as fast as Terin’s leg allowed them. They could see the violet haze of an opened portal ahead. Esryn’s heart soared and she pulled Terin along now, ignoring the smoke filling her lungs.

Suddenly, she was hauled backwards. Maintaining her balance, she looked over her shoulder at Terin. He had collapsed into the tall grass, pain contorting his features.

“Teris,” Esryn cried, “We must keep going! The portal is near!”

“I cannot keep up, my leg—”

“I am not leaving Lydreith without you! Now, move!” She tugged on his hand desperately, stomach sinking.

“Esryn...go!” Terin exclaimed, “One of them followed!”

Esryn whipped back to see a red-eyed figure, arrow nocked into place and ready to loose. Teris said, “I love you, Esryn, until we meet once more.”

“Terin!” Esryn looked between him and the dark figure. Terin shooked his head, eyes full of anguish and love.

The figure growled, “The Goddess will have her blood.”

Before Esryn could react, Terin shoved her away. “GO!” The arrow sailed, curving like a bird’s wing in the fiery air, burrowing into her love’s back.

Tears filled her burning eyes as she sprinted forward, the portal only a hands length away. Salt dripping onto her tongue, she murmured, “Until we meet once more.”

Her world melted into violet.
