look, i'm going to make an example of you, and then I'm just going to delete and block people, because I am literally exhausted by this
this is not about a video game.
"I didn't mean any offence" is not an apology.
what you meant is entirely irrelevant here.
because none of the approximately 9 trillion people who have been bombarding my inbox literally nonstop since I reblogged a post from an actual Sims blog meant any ~offense~ either.
but of course you didn't mean anything
because you weren't thinking of anything but your own needs
you were literally not thinking of anyone but yourself, none of you were
it didn't occur to you that the information you were seeking was easily accessible to you through not even a modicum of effort on your part, without demanding that a total stranger who was in no way shape or form putting herself forward as a resource for you take time and energy and spend it on you and your needs out of the sheer goodness of her heart
it didn't occur to you that this total stranger might not have the energy to help you with anything, for reasons of physical and/or mental health, and that this lack of energy was the reason why she didn't put herself forward as a resource for every tom dick and harry that can't figure out how to download or install a video game she literally blogs about once every couple of years
so instead of apologizing after the fact with a non-apology
take five minutes to think about someone other than yourself, and use the plethora of resources available to you on the internet before approaching a complete stranger you don't know and demanding a piece of their time and energy
time and energy, incidentally, that most companies charge money for, and that you demanded of a total stranger who does not have that in her blog or job description, for free.
