Behind the Sims Summit - My Notes

I have to preface this by saying, that I do think the summit lived up to the hype!

The summit announced many exciting news including updated babies, two expansion packs in 2023, and a super early sneak peak of The Sims 5 (known as Project Rene).

The summit let players know that there is still more updates, packs, and kits coming to The Sims 4. Sim Deliveries will be coming to the game monthly. There will be new packs, including two expansion packs coming in 2023. Below are two screenshots from the stream that depict two worlds and in-game and build-and-buy items that are not currently in-game.

In this first screenshot, we see what appears to be two different worlds. The one on the left looks like a market space and the one on the right shows a parent (with a baby carrier!) and a child riding a bike. I personally think that the photograph on the right might be hinting to a Sims 3 Generations like pack coming to Sims 4.

This second screenshot shows concept art of items that we don't currently have in the game. I think the traditional style might also point to a Generations pack.

This screenshot depicts dentures, a chair, a box that looks like it has mementos, clothing, and a container with hair accessories - which again, I think can all point to generations come to the game.

The live stream also announced changes for the Sims FreePlay and the Sim Mobile. The Sims FreePlay will see improvement to sim faces, hairstyles available across genders, and super yachts. Sims Mobile will be adding balconies!

The team also announced that The Sims is partnering with Overwolf and CC creators to create a place for players to access safe CC and mods to add to their game. I think this is such an incredible idea! Mods and CC are such a huge part of the Sims experience, and I am glad that the franchise is developing even better relationships with this important community. I hope that as partnerships like this develop, that the team continues to think about players on console and how they can benefit from partnerships like this.

Towards the end of the stream, super early clips of build-and-buy concepts for The Sims 5 were shared. The goal is to make the game collaborative, easily play across multiple devices, and to give players the option to play solo or with others.

Finally, the stream concluded with a sneak peak of improved babies, which will be coming to the game in early 2023!

💙🖤 Life’s Little Twists – First Gen Update 💙🖤 Part 5

Hey, Simmers! 💚

Time for another Life’s Little Twists update—and things are moving fast! Zephyra is growing like crazy—our picky little bean has definitely inherited some attitude. Salomena is doing her best, but mealtimes have turned into full-on negotiations.

Meanwhile, Salomena’s been feeling a bit insecure about her looks after gaining a few postpartum pounds. But then she checked herself out in the mirror and saw she’s still marked as "very attractive"—a win! She celebrated the moment with a little fart. Classic Salomena. 😂💅

Zephyra is also extremely moody, but one thing that always calms her down? Dinosaur bedtime stories from Clyde. She’s obsessed with dinos—she even has dino bedsheets. 🦕📚

Oh, and guess what?! A burglar broke in! I honestly forgot burglars were even a thing in this game! 😱 This lady thief just strutted upstairs like she owned the place. Meanwhile, in true Sims fashion, Clyde completely glitched out and kept walking in circles with Zephyra because the thief was stuck on the stairs. Eventually she disappeared, and everything un-glitched—honestly, would it even be The Sims without a few bugs?

Progress-wise, Salomena maxed her Writing skill! ✍️ Just Charisma left now to complete her generation goals.

Clyde also hit level 10 Cooking and had this super sweet dream about owning a vet clinic and is now “working hard to make it a reality.” Ugh, my heart. 🥺 Do I have to buy Cats & Dogs now just for Clyde’s dream??

Zephyra’s been spending a lot of time at daycare since both parents are working full-time, and she’s making new friends.

Salomena aged up into a full Adult, but I kept it simple—just a cake and family time.

I’m saving the real party for Zephyra’s birthday, which is coming up soon!

I need to focus now and get those skills finished so she can grow into a healthy, smart little girl. Can’t wait to see what kind of chaos she brings to the next stage! 💚
