crowley’s highly into praise. it’s one of his strongest & most developed kinks. it’s part of who he is, whether it’s demon or if we should write in a human verse or with fergus. his self esteem plays a huge part in anything and everything he does, it only makes sense it’s also a big part of his sex life.
there’s two aspects to this.
first is the part that’s most likely the one you’ll see most - crowley doing the praising. when he’s with someone, be it romantically or simply for sex, he praises a shit ton. pardon my language, but there’s not better way to describe it. he lifts his partners up, it’s how he shows he cares or that he doesn’t not care, lol. again, pardon the way i’m putting this but crowley is complicated. he talks a lot in bed to begin with, but it’s hardly dirty talk, it’s praise. he appreciates beauty when he sees it & he secretly craves to feel worthy. he tells himself he does, but let’s be real, he doesn’t necessarily. especially when he hangs around the winchesters, castiel or the demons, or even worse - rowena. basically always lol. praising partners makes him feel good & he likes seeing pleasure on their face in general so it’s like a double win. it’s also why he prefers human lays, like he has greater chances at even feeling remotely cared for with people who aren’t prejudiced against him being a demon/monster. he also generally gives his partners what he desires, so like, he overcompensates by drowning partners in praise because he can’t/won’t ask for it himself, which leads me to case no. 2.
then there’s the bit where he secretly enjoys being praised. the whole good boy thing isn’t just a mommy issues/kink problem, it’s the whole ‘he doesn’t feel like he’s enough ever’ problem. he doesn’t feel appreciated by anybody, or like people y’know, like him. so it’s a huge thing to hear that someone’s appreciating what he does, you know? he plays hard to get and he’s flirty af, but he does want to just feel loved deep down. people only ever come to him because they want something for themselves, or because he’s the mighty demon king or w/e, but nobody actually comes for crowley & that’s why this is such a powerful kink when it comes to crowley. those who praise/love him like he craves to be loved hold his heart in their hands.
those people have the ability to either use him if desired or crush him into nothing. it’s a kink & a huge weakness at the same time.
